I see several comments and questions on Vasograin - so let me share my experience. I also started gatting migraine when I was 15 and frequency of Vasograin increased to nearly 3 to 4 tablets in a week by age of 40. Now, I get so severe headaches which will never go and I had to be admitted in serious condition to hospital. There, Neurophysician did MRI/CT Scan and then found all side effects of Vasograin. It gives you some relief in immediate term, but increases your likelyhood of getting it at higher frequency. So, dont take it so often and meet Neurophysician. Like in my case, I have been advised to stop it completely and use only Crocin or take Sibelium for long-term treatment. I have already met 4 Neurophysicians and all advised of Sibelium. So, please avoid self medication and especially Vasograin which has very high side effects.

Hi everybody, I have found that there is not any permanant cure in allopathy for migraine. My son was suffering from Migraine for 15 years as nothing worked for him. He finally used a herbal oil which he got at herbal41atyahoodotcom. Now he is completely free from migraine since last one year. Those who wish to try it can do so.

HI, My wife suffers from Migraine since ages. We tried Homeopathy, but it dint work. Will try Ayurveda in coming days, someone referred a very famous Vaid near sarai kale khan. Just to share my experience, i messaged My wife back & legs whenever she has a bad Migraine & it provides immense relief to her. It does not take away her headache all the time, but majorly lessens the pain, nine out of 10 times. No technique, just normal massage for around 20 min, more attention to lower back, legs below knees & gentle massage on complete sole.

vasograin is a good medicine but is effective only if taken before the migraine attack occurs completely. so take it when u feel that i might get a headache in some time...becoz it is less effecitve after the migraine has attacked...since the acidity and bile in the stomach doesnt allow any medicine to have its effect...you might continiouly vomit out everything...personally i drink lots of warm water and vomit out all the bile and acid frm my stomach and my headache is relieved ...then i eat boiled rice and one boiled mashed potato...this recipe is actually a popular bengali dish named alu sheddho bhaat...it is the most effective after-migraine food i have had....please try it....rice is best as it stays in ur tummy...but plesae remmber u need to vomit out the bile becoz no food will stay in ur tummy unless the bile is gone....

i am a medical professional and have faced trouble with migraine.. and recovered from it too! i absolutely agree with shyam who said that the regular practice of sudarshan kriya by the art of living foundation helps in totally relieving one from the pangs of debilitating migraine attacks. regular practice of sudarshan kriya also enables one to completely get rid of the toxins from all the systems - gastro-intestinal system, nervous system, blood-bile etc.. i remember i used to take migranil to relieve my headaches[they were bad as i had osmophobia, which is irritation from odor's] after i would do the pranayam and the sudarshan kriya the headaches and all the disabling symptoms would simply vanish! and i began to notice that i was totally free of migraine, even when i was not regular with the kriya.it is so powerful. i have been doing it for 10 years now and recommend it to my patients too! forget migraines, it has a holistic effect on all the mental and physical health problems. a lot of research being done has revealed that sudarshan kriya is a winner and a boon to mankind health-wise and otherwise too. a note to all those who want to know more- taking migranil/ vasograin may subdue your symptoms for a while, but as far as i know and have experienced it would not make a gigantic difference in your status, it may even worsen it depending on how often one takes the tablets and/or the other medical history behind an individual. the best long lasting remedy would be first to avoid anything and everything that causes the attacks[migraine is said to increase during periods of stress and anxiety] and second would be coupling pranayam with meditation. meditation is said to get the brain functioning in the gamma binding mode where there is increase in the gamma waves in the brain which means that the mind is balanced and is restfully relaxed and aware. of course, when you have an exam or an emergency migranil/vasograin should save you, but, its advisable that one finds a more dependable, permanent cure.

i used to suffer from migraines (heavy attacks) including nausea and vomiting, took a lot of medicines, none of which helped. i started doing the art of living course and now for the last 2 years i have been migraine free. do the sudarsanalriya and breathing exercises, pranayama and baastrika daily, you will see a world of difference. you would have tried all treatments till date, why not give this a shot?

i get migraines every fortnight...they last for 3 days..i tried many medicines earlier (vasograin, nice, stemetil, disprin) but none seemed to work....so now all i do is tie a cloth tightly around my forehead and eyes and sleep in a dark room.i started getting these pains since i was 15 yrs old.....some doctors say that it can be because of hormonal problems...i try to live in routine, sleep at same time every night and never skip meals.....sometimes taking black salt with water helps in lowering the pain a little.

hi i have been suffering from migraines all my life. what i have realised is the triggers for every sufferer is different and there is no one solution for all migraines. but the most common triggers are colas, chocolates, citrus fruits, msg in chinese food, harsh lights, loud noise and stress.. i am pregnant at the moment and am not able to take any medicines for the migraines.. i read in one of the websites that taking a wet cloth and putting in the microwave for 1 min to make it hot and wrapping this around your neck helps.. i have tried this and it has given me a lot of relief but then you still need to take a lot of rest but try it', it may help

migraine occurs to those who donot or cannot easily forgive any harm/hurt done by others to them or by those who cannot forget events that have happenened to them which they consider as unfortunate. it could also happen to people who never forgave persons in their past lives and carrying those negativities in their present lives. you can get the hurt memories of your past or present lives out of your system by doing meditation based on the simple technique of self-realization from an experienced spritual teacher who does not charge anything for teaching the same.

since from past 16 years i have migraine. initially it started with a blind spot when i was in 9th grade. then i used to get severe attacks once in every 15 days like vision disturbance, vomitting. at the age of 22 i started drinking 4-5 glasses of water daily as soon as i get up, by this severe attacks stopped, now i get mild headaches which stop when i take rentidine and a pain killer. my life is normal now. if i am in a hurry i vomit the water after 5 minutes and go for job. even it is useful and most of the time the water is sour. if i know that my routine is going to change any day then i take sibelium 5 mg in advance or if i am unable to drink water in the morning then i take lansoporzole 30 mg and go out. i have never got severe attacks now. vasograin is good when an headache is triggered but i use it very less because it is harmful to health. i get migraine due to acidity so i avoid vitamin c or citrite. i have to maintain my eating and sleeping times same regularly. i never starve. i keep biscuits all the while in my bag. daily morning 1.5 litres of water has relieved my life. it also helps in reducing weight, stools are clear and good appitite. it gives long life. now on off days due to routine change i get headache and it stops with antacid and pain killer. try to take safe medicines and less medicine. now i am planning to become pregnant so i want to see a doctor and confirm that the medicine i take is safe for it. hope so my experience will be of help to any of you.

vasograin and then flunarin was prescribed to me for migraines as i used to get it almost everyday. it stopped briefly and started now again. may be this is due to vision issues. it is also better to check your eyes when the migraine is persistent. the medicines work, but the issue may be something else. please check with your doctor.

i been having migraines since last 10 years, i use vasograin before the attack sets in, or 4 dispirin (only once a week or a fortnight because i started getting nosebleeds) or 2-3 crocin depends if the migrain does not subside within 30minutes of taking the medicine. being a student i think its my lifestyle that affects the frequency and occurrence of migraine's. hope this helps

folks, if you get a migraine and if you are at home, try this: 1. take a dry ginger (available in india in all the stores. not sure of other places but you can try in indian grocery stores) 2. select a rough surface where you can grind the ginger piece and extract the paste (note - grinding in a mixer may also help but get a thick and smooth paste.) 3. apply this paste evenly on the forehead and just lie down and relax. it may burn a while but be patient. the paste starts drying and then you feel like someone is trying to massage on your forehead. the headache will be gone in an hour.

i suffered migraine headaches for long years. was prescribed sibilium 5 mg tabs; had to take for 9 months, though not many side effecs... it makes one too drowsy... but completely got rid of the pain; but if the reason is stress, or something to do with emotions, then that needs to be addressed. tablet just gives a good sleep at night which we otherwise dont get and long time sleeplessness also leads to migraine.

reply to "beth" . please do eye check up for your child with a good ophthalmologist as soon as possible. because as far as i know, migraine does not cause permanent problem in vision. it could be due to some other eye related disease, in my opinion. so better consult a specialist

i have been suffering with migrane for last 15 years and now i am 46. generally i get headache twice a month and it used to be controlled with pain killer imol plus, but now a days even i am not getting relief with imol plus. ultimately i found a neurologist and started talking anti depression and anti migrane tables i.e., topirol 25 twice a day and betacap plus 5 mg at bed time. now a days, i am getting a sound sleep and i didn't get a single migrane attack in last 3 months but my wife is saying that i became quiet and fatigue. can some body tell me whether there will be any side effect of using the medicine for long duration like 4 to 5 months?

hi ...i do have migraine...do get atleast twice in a month...i checked with mnay doctors and nuralogists..and found that there is no permenant relief for migraine...but one thing i found is that doing proper pranama yoga daily, helps a lot reduce the freequency of getting migrains.it definately works out..try to spend 10 to 20 min a day to work on pranama yoga..so that not required to take even alopathy..thats what my observation.
