severe form of postpartum depression is known as postpartum psychosis. Immediate medical intervention is needed at this stage. It is completely treatable and curable but right help at the right time is needed.

postpartum psychosis is a very serious disorder and is considered an emergency. Women with a history of bipolar disorder have an increased risk of developing postpartum psychosis. unusual behaviour, delusions and feelings are common symptoms of postpartum psychosis.

Post delivery depression is not so common but recently there have been many cases of post delivery depression. This can arise any time during pregnancy but most probably in the first 12 months after birth.
