my husband believes in giving a child one name and calling him that . for example i am going to name my son who is due in jan akhil and not akhilesh as we will always find a reason to shorten it to the latter . so short and sweet names that are made up 2-3 syllables are ideal . also for those living in outside home country , name your child in a way ppl of the state can pronounce . ideally names that westerners can pronounce . really people make such ridicules of mine and my hubby's names that are quite long . we have given our selves short and easy to pronounce nick names and we both detest it .
