Top 10 Must Haves for All New Moms

new moms

Being prepared with all the newborn care essentials can help new mothers to take care of their babies without any hassle. Let us take a look at the list of top 10 must haves for new moms.

Motherhood is an amazing experience – but running to a nearby store every now and then for the newborn in the house may ruin the lovely experience. Though you do not have to design an entire closet for the stuff, but there are few things which you must have readily available to you. Here is a list of top 10 must-haves for all moms.

1. Nursing Kit

You really need breastfeeding essentials in your nursing kit - some soothing gel packs, various sizes of flanges, cream for sore nipples, and absorbent breast pads. In case your baby is finding it difficult to latch on your nipple, then keep some nipple shields too. You may also find a hands-free pumping bra helpful.

2. Stroller

Needless to mention, but yes, this is of utmost importance – a stroller. Go for a lightweight and easily collapsible umbrella stroller as you will not like to push around a heavy one everywhere you go. It will be a lifesaver for you and your kid too.

3. Big Purse

You must have a big stylish purse that would also act as an all-purpose diaper bag. It must have tons of pocket space, easily attach to your stroller, and also a washable matte finish. You can carry almost everything for you and your baby in it.

4. Travel Chair

You do not have to say “no” to a restaurant date or to the trip that involves long drive as long as you have a travel chair. Fixing it at the side of the dining table or in the back of your car is so easy, that traveling with your kid will get much easier.

5. Baby Carrier

Want to go for a walk without the stroller but with your baby? It is not a big deal now, as you have different types of baby carrier now that is actually comfortable to wear. But make sure you try on those adjustable straps on your hips and shoulders before you buy it.

6. Multi-Purpose Swing

Keeping your baby occupied in a swing is so important while you are busy with household chores. Buy a high quality one that comes along with hookups for MP3 players, flashing lights and self-rocking mechanism that will even lull a fussy baby to sleep.

7. Swaddle Blankets

Wrap your baby with swaddle blankets snugly. This will help your baby self-soothe by reminding him/her days back in the womb, and he or she will fall asleep faster. Look for lightweight ones that are even easy to carry.

8. Safe Car Seat

Your baby’s safety is the most priority; at the same time, you want your baby to feel comfortable. So just do not waste your money buying popular car seat; instead, buy a high quality safe yet comfortable car seat just meant for your baby.

9. Water Bottle

Breastfeeding will make you thirsty more than ever. Do not fall in the trap of colas and sodas. Quench your thirst with plain and purified water as much as you can - so it is essential to keep a water bottle handy.

10. Medical Kit

Keep a small medical kit handy just in case you need. What do you need to keep in that? A thermometer, antibiotic ointment, infant pain reliever, saline nose drops, nose suction device, etc; which are prescribed by your child’s pediatrician would fit the list.
Once you are ready with all the must-haves, your motherhood will be going to be much easier than you have imagined. These must-haves are for the safety and comfortable for you and your baby. A happy baby makes a happy you, and a happy you makes a happy baby.
