INVITATION

The invite should look like a tiny fairy tale book with a couple of pages. You can make a collage on the cover by using pictures of Snow White and the seven dwarfs, Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel, etc. 

On the first page you can write: ENTER THE LAND OF MAGIC AND FANTASY.
On the next page: OF FAIRIES AND ELVES.
And on the next page: OF SWEET LITTLE GIRLS AND MEAN WOLVES. 
And finally:  IT'S MY 7TH BIRTHDAY
AND I WOULD LIKE 
TO INVITE YOU 
TO A MAGIC LAND 
OF FAIRY TALES
WHERE DREAMS CAN COME TRUE.

DECORATION

If you could get a few of your close friends and family to dress up like characters like Snow White, Red Riding Hood, and have a few wolves and a fairy godmother, and have them mingling with the children, it would be fantastic. Otherwise, you should have cut outs of these characters and place them all over the room. Stick dark blue paper on the ceiling and have danglers of a bright big moon and a few silver stars suspended from the ceiling. Suspend a magic carpet in mid-air to make it look like it is flying. Have a big star shaped khoy bag in the center and fill it with shiny objects and little gifts.
 

THE ENTERTAINMENT.

MAGIC PARCEL: very similar to 'passing the parcel'. Except for the fact that each layer of the parcel reveals a tiny surprise gift instead of a punishment. So have the children sitting in a circle and passing the magic parcel with music playing in the background. When the music stops, the child holding the parcel gets to open the topmost layer and find his surprise gift. It is certainly more fun than receiving punishments. 

THREE LITTLE BEARS: have a soup eating contest and award the prize to the child who finishes his soup the fastest. Also give out prizes for second and third place. 

GOLDILOCKS: play the age-old favourite 'lock and key' with a new and exciting apparatus. Have them use an actual brass lock and key instead of an imaginary one. Or paint a silver lock with gold colour. 

FOUR CORNERS: name the four corners after SNOW WHITE, GOLDILOCKS, RED 

RIDING HOOD and CINDERELLA. Play some music and let the children run around the 4 corners of the room. When the music stops, pick out a chit and disqualify all the children standing in that particular corner. When only one child is left playing the game, he or she is declared the winner. 

TALL TALES: another version of 'Chinese whispers'. Have the children sit in a big circle and whisper a message to the child sitting on the right. This message is then passed on till it reaches the last person who has to say it out loud. By this time it is completely convoluted and nothing close to how it started out. This game is good for a few great laughs.

2. A fairy tale colouring book with a set of 4 felt pens/crayons.

4. A book of fairy tales and other stories.
 

THE CAKE

You can choose from a wide variety of interesting options here. The cake could be in the shape of  'gingerbread man', or any of the other fairy tale characters like Jack and the beanstalk, Red riding Hood, Snow white or just about any character you fancy. Pinocchio with his long nose would also be very interesting. But better still would be the gingerbread house from Hansel and Gretel. The one that is made out of chocolate, gems, smarties, sweets and cherries. 
 

THE BIRTHDAY DRESS

Once again the possibilities are endless. You could dress up your little one like just about any character from any fairy tale. That's what makes this party so interesting. He could look like anyone right from the Wizard of Oz to Pinocchio. And your girl could be anyone from Alice in Wonderland to Red Riding Hood or Goldilocks. 

In fact goldilocks is the simplest, for all that you need to do is to bleach her hair and plait it or make her wear a simple frilly frock and a wig. Red Riding Hood is also quite simple as all she needs is a red cape a riding hat and boots and a red dress.
 

AGE GROUP OF CHILDREN

This party would be most enjoyed by children in the age group of 3 to 10 years.
 

PARTY FOOD

1. UNCLE SCROOGE'S MONEYBAGS - spring rolls shaped like moneybags filled with vegetables and deep-fried. To get the shape right, roll out the dough and place the filling in the center. Bring all the edges together and twist at the neck. It looks like a moneybag.
2. GOLDILOCK SOUP- any flavour will do - tomato, spinach, etc. 
3. SNOW WHITE VANILLA - good old vanilla topped with chocolate sauce. 
4. PINNOCHIO FRANKIE ROLLS - any stuffing rolled into Indian bread.
5. ALICE'S QUICHES - corn and mushroom quiches.
6. RED RIDING HOOD COLAS - raspberry sodas and strawberry daiquiris. 
7. JACK'S BEANSTALK - mini Mexican tacos with refried beans.
