Tips for Writing Journal

Journal writing is one of the hobbies that can provide immense benefits to children. Read on to find some journal writing tips which parents can help their children to imbibe.

Journal writing is one of the types of creative writing. The mind of kids who love writing and creative writing would be filled with number of thoughts as soon as they hear about journal writing. But at the same time the students who do not love writing would turn blank and at times get de-motivated. There are several tips through which children at least develop a habit of journal writing.
Your child must know writing a journal as it is very helpful. Children’s brain doors get opened for innumerable ideas, various expressions and emotions and get a chance to put it down on paper. Journal writing is a healthy habit to develop in your children. This type of creative writing also help in keeping your children engaged in some productive or learning activity. So here are some tips for the kids and their parents for journal writing.

Inner Voice

Develop a skill of hearing an inner voice in your children. This will help in journal writing and as well as in their life. Never think too much what the reader will feel after reading this. Motivate them to write what they feel, what are their thoughts and ideas put them on paper. It should be valuable for you and your kids first. This journal belongs to your child so she or he will decide how and what to be written on it.

Breaking of Rules

While writing, tell your kids to write whatever they feel. Do not keep any limits for ideas and rules of any language while writing, just write it down and pour all the ideas and thoughts. No spellings and no grammar of the language should be considered while the writing or pouring of thought process on paper is going on. These can be edited at later stages.

Take Time

Give your children their own time while writing a journal. At times they are full of thoughts and ideas, they may feel like writing 100s of words at times there thought is going on and they would write only one word. Writing one word for starting a journal is also considered as a good step. Tell your children to go with the flow of feeling while writing a journal and they easily complete it with fewer efforts.

Place to Write a Journal

Select a place in the house or garden to write a journal. For journal writing a place is selected where the young writers fell comfortable, safe, secure and happy and also gets inspired. This place can be the ideal place for your young writer to write a journal. Here they get lost into their thought process and write a journal with more ease.

Be Innovative

Always keep lots of attractive stickers, colour pens and photos to make your journal more attractive and interesting. Keep all these necessary material near the place where your kids sits while writing a journal. This type of writing can give fun, interest, motivation to write more and innovation at the same time.

Journal on a Theme

Have some idea on what the journal should be on. Journal on an appropriate theme depicts the character and behaviour of the writer. In short you can say journal is a rough sketch of the writer.
In this way your kids can develop a habit of journal writing and motivate them to write daily. This would be easy for parents also to track down what their children are going through. Because if they are happy there journal will show that and if they are sad or going through any problem you will be the first one to know it just by reading your kids journal. Journal is a best way to express.
