Here are some things which parents can do for helping children deal with cough and cold easily.

Avoid Giving Cooling Foods

During the seasons like monsoons and winters it is necessary to prevent children from having food items that can increase the risk of cold in them. During this time it is necessary to avoid including cooling foods in their diet. Cooling foods include foods like ice-creams, ice-candies, cold drinks and other foods that can induce cough and cold in them. 

Use Home Remedies

Using simple home remedies for dealing with cough and cold in children at the initial stages can work wonders. These remedies can prove very beneficial for preventing disorders like cold, cough and sore throat. Home remedies include remedies like turmeric milk, lemon grass milk, juice of Tulsi leaves, giving a teaspoon of ginger and honey etc.      

Encourage Healthy Habits

Encouraging healthy habits is also a must to prevent common illnesses like cough and cold in children. Following basic hygienic habits like washing hands before and after eating. Wearing clean clothes is also a must to prevent common illnesses like cough and cold.

Include Immune Boosting Foods
