I have a 5 week old daughter. we had a bad start with breastfeeding. now she is on the mix of formula and my milk. my concern is that now she is not haapy taking formula. and also goes withour my feed for 3-4 hrs. i feel that her stomach size is not growing and she might be going to sleep hungry. does anyone else has this concern. Hetal replied. hi, since you started formula at 5 weeks itself,and since she is going without your feeds for 3-5 hourrs, which should not be the case..there is a possibility that the formula she is taking might seem to be heavy enough for her. talk to your dr about it..if your baby has reported any colic problems or weight reduced then your baby might not be getting enough,,but if there has not been any such problems, then formula is abit heavy for her than bm which is obvious...
so talk to your dr,,if dr feels ok for your baby to continue with the same brand, he will let you do that or may be shift your baby to lighter formula or rather soy formula !
...when i started my baby formula at 8th month, her number of feeds had decreased, but her intake per feed was full,,and yes she slept well after taking formula,,,which has been seen many babies ,,it all means that formula has been proved to be abit heavy than bm but at the same time, for some babies there wasnt any difference in their intake or sleep hours,,as their apetite grew with the intake !
