Hi
I am 18 weeks pregnant now.I am a little worried about my weight .I have not gained weight after conceived.Doctor said its Ok during the first trimester and I have to gain weight gradually during the next trimester.
But I haven' t gained any weight, also I don' t have any vomiting, morning sickness etc. Also I feel my belly is too small for 18 weeks. Is this a matter of concern.?I am in software profession and have to work 8-9 hrs per day. I am not yet started recognising any fetal movements too.
Can anybody pls help me answer my question?

Dont worry i am 22 weeks pregnant and always overweight. This is second preganacy . Because of your excessive weight you dont come to know of the baby growth. My advice please reduce your weight . i lost in 1 month 6 kgs in 19th week of pregnancy. Overweight does not allow full baby growth.

Radhika

I am from Jan board and I am also a working 2nd time mom. As Rashmi said that some people don' t show off much but still go on to have healthy baby. As long as ur doc say everything is fine ....u can relax.
As for 8-9 hr work day u can keep handy snacks with you to munch on..sometimes while working we forget that our body need constant nutrition for growin baby. try to have milkshakes, carrots, fruits, granola bars, figs, nuts handy & keep munching on them. No one will object as ur condition need nutrition.

Take care
Daisy

hi radhika
don' t worry about ur weight and ur belly' s growth.may be becos u r working u r not gaining weight.in ur first pregnancy it is normal to show ur belly late especially if u r very thin or if u already had a little stomach,so u might not be really able to identify the growth.as far as movements is concerned u will start feeling may be after 20 weeks,or again there may be small movements and u might not be able to recognize as u r busy working,i am pregnant for my second baby and 17 weeks too,i have also not started to feel the movements.until and unless doctor tells u that there is prob in ur pregnancy u need not worry about these things.ur baby will be growing properly inside don' t worry.i didnot have vomitting, nausea etc etc nothing during my first pregnancy, and now also i don' t have anything.consult ur doctor if u have any doubts, get it cleared by him soon.all the best
bye

hi
My son also had the same problem his legs used to shiver my doc said it is due to calcium defieciency b.coz I was calcium deficient. She gave him a tonic for 2 mnths it cured after that. The reason why ur baby' s leg is shivering may be this. Plz contact ur doc and take necessary steps as soon as possible.... - Sahila Gupta [View Message]
Help for your sis in NJ
Ravs, your ideas are out of date, since your sis is in NJ she should join a good prenatal class [Lamaze, Bradley etc] and get updated information, also her physician will guide her on diet and her self care please don' t give her advise based on the info in this mail of yours. Not to worry
If you want a normal delivery, ask your doc first to try vaginal delivery if not then go for forceps delivery where baby can taken out with the help of tongs...
