My husband has a very bad short temper...he gets mad easily for every little thing and when he does that i argue back with him...After i start getting back to him, things just start getting worse and we end up fighting wiht each other...nothing physically here...just getting back to each other....i want to change this short temperness in my husband and the only solultion i can think of is for me to stay calm...i am hoping in doing that, it will slowly change him too..please guide me here...we are happily married couple for 4yrs now...and this is one thing that really hurts me becoz when we gets mad sometimes he doesnt realize what he says and thats why teh situation gets more worse...please advise on how i can handle the situation to make it better between us... ramesh replied. hello priya tell me more how can i b good for u Chaitu replied. Hi Priya, this is very common problem now a days that people have very low tolerance levels and gets frustrated emotionally which results in short temper and outburst.

To handle this situation as a wife you rightly mentioned that being calm for that time being and when he cools down, you can explain him in detail in a very soft manner that what are the consequences and the things which lead to that incident. Also, you can tell him when you both are together in a happy mood that how much you feel for him and make him understand that what makes you hurt when he says harsh words and make him realize that how ugly his behavior looks when he gets very angry.

Also, tell him that being little cool and think intelligently and not emotionally makes lots of difference and it helps building a strong relationship between both of you. Ask him to just think to whom you will complain if he only hurts you, if it is some one else then you can tell it to your husband but if it is he when hurts you then there will not be any other option except keeping silent.

So, explain him all these things in a soft manner and good mood, slowly he will also think from your angle. I also had this short temper problem some 5-6 years back but my wife has changed me a lot and now I tell her to be cool some times when she gets emotional.
