Dear Uma,
You can try the following two ways to make your kid have vegetables:
1) Nutritious and Delicious Vegetable Soup:

Take tomatoes, onion, cauliflower, beans, carrots and cabbage. Boil all these vegetables with water and salt in the pressure cooker. Let it boil for around 10 whistles. Take this mixture and grind it properly in a blender/mixer. Take a strainer and strain this mixture through it (all the rough things and tomato seeds get eliminated by this way). Now, make it warm, add some pepper and butter and serve hot! Believe me, its verrrrryyyyy tasty and nutritious!

2) Daal with vegetables:

Actually, nowadays, maybe due to being pregnant, I don't feel like eating vegetables; so, I discovered a new way to cook daals - Just try it - It really comes out to be very tasty:

Take vegetables like tomatoes, onions, cauliflower, beans, cabbage, carrot, ginger etc and cut them into small pieces. Take any daal of your choice (you can keep on trying different daals on different days). Add water, vegetables (cut into small pieces), salt, a bit of heeng (asafetida) & turmeric (if you want) in the daal and cook it in the pressure cooker. Wait till atleast 10 whistles (the number of whistles will increase depending on the type of the daal you are cooking, but minimum should be 10). Then, take oil/ghee in a separate pan, put either cumin seeds & pepper or curry leaves, mustard seeds & pepper (depending on the daal or the taste, that you want to have). Let it (either cumin seeds or mustard seeds) splutter in the oil/ghee. Now mix this tadka (spluttered seeds in oil/ghee)in the daal and serve with either chappatis or rice. This tastes really good and has all the good nutrients of the daal as well as the vegetables.
So, do try these and I am sure, your kid will like them.
All the Best!
Take Care & Keep Smiling!

Hi Uma,
Most of the kids are fussy in eating vegetables. vegetables are a child's best friends. Especially when eaten raw, the nutritional value in vegetables can't be beat. Try broccoli or cauliflower flowerets, carrot, green pepper slices, cherry tomatoes or tomato wedges, , and more. Cut them into sticks or coins, stars, moon, heart, etc., Then dip them into some sauce(plain sauce without spice), or yogurt dip or mayonnaise. You can put these vegetables in the whole grain bread too. Arrange some rasins on top Call it \";Ants\";. You can also arrange roasted put nuts. Try to create stories.
You can mash the vegetables and add in the food so that your child cannot make out.
Only Vegetables doesnt make your child healthy. Give variety of foods especially grains and beans.

Hope your daughter likes. All the best

hi,
uma you can try your daughter by cutting the vegetables in different shapes like moon, sun, flower house etc and tell her that if you eat these thinks you will be strong. first give her raw vegetabels like carrot, tomoto, cucumber etc then automatically she loves to eat vegetables
