Hi all:

Have any of you got ICSI done? How is the procedure? How successful is it? My doc says that is the only solution as i am already 33. Any advice on the same will be helpful.

Cheers

Hey...

Thanks for the msg. Both are reports have been normal. I have regular periods, ovulation shows that the follicle grows to right size before rupturing, Endometrium is right after the rupture, Laproscopy showed that both the tubes are normal and uterus is of right size and in right position. As for my husband his sperm count is little lower than normal but motility is pretty good. All our blood reports are normal. Only factor here is both of us are 33 yrs of age. We work and have hectic life becos of work and travel in mumbai. For the past year i am not able to relax even if i try hard. I am notable to enjoy life and i keep cribbing about something or the other. I know its bad but my nature has become this. I think my anxiety and stress is the main reason for me not to conceive. Its such an irony that you know the cause and still not able to do anything. I was thinking i will stop ovulation study and everything this month. I will just relax and bed every alternate day. If still i do not conceive then i will go for an ICSI. What do you think abt it? Any other suggestions you can give me? How much do you think ICSI would cost in Mumbai? My doc says it has just 40% chances of being positive after treatment. IS it true. Sorry for very long post.....

Hi DV

I have had ICSI done in past. This procedur is not stressful for a individual since it will not make a difference for you physically. It just cost some more money since it is hi tech precedure where they force a sperm into egg by using some tiny needle. ICSI is not decided by a dr. depend on you age, rather it is decided by a dr. if your hubby has low sperm or low morphology or you have less egg or long history of infertilty.
Hope it helps.. feel free to ask me if you have any more question.

Best luck
semi

Hi rupa

My icsi was not sucessful. It was done in USA (SFO). I had 4 IVF´ s done with icsi and they were partial sucessful. The plus point of having a icsi is that it makes your egg fertile for sure (since they are forcing sperm into egg) so u have some embrayo as end result and they have something to trf to you too. But minus part of icsi is that pregency has higher rate of miscarriage or cromosyon abnormalities . Hope it help. pls feel free to ask any question. Again it failed for me , does not mean that it does not work for anyone.
all the best
semi.

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still... - SS [View Message]
