My baby is 10 months old ,recently he felt sick n doctor complained that he got mild bacterial infection to his lungs (pnemonia) , n gave antibiotic for 10 days, he is been using,other wise my baby is very active n very smart,he weighs 18 pounds.the only thing i`m worried is about his health, he get cold too often n how can i avoid bacterial infections,,,,,,,,,,,is it okay for his health in future as doctor complained about pnemonia ,has any one experienced this ,please reply i`m really worried of his health. smitha replied. Dont worry abt ur baby.Since the doctor has given antibitoics,bacterial infection will be cured.In future there will not be any problems.Just make sure that the bacterial infection is completely cured once his course is done.My Son got the problem but it was due to viral infection.Make sure to prevent him from colds.
1.Often wash ur hands,especailly before feeding him,before cooking for baby,after his diaper change.ordinary soap is enuf.it gives protection against rsv which is one of the causes for pneumonia.
2.give ur baby plenty of fluids.like mixed vegetable soups,or juices,water.
3.give him Healthy Diet. Daily diets should include foods such as fresh, dark-colored fruits and vegetables, which are rich in antioxidants and other important food chemicals that help boost the immune system
4.Also use soft tissues to wipe his nose when he has cold and just flush it in the toliet.dont use handkerchief or napkin because virus survives on it.make sure to flush always with lid closed.
5.just wipe common touched surfaces like door handles,tables or cahirs with a bit of disinfectant in ur house when someone has cold or any other viral infection.
But this really helps.Just give a try and see.Also ask anyone who comes from outside to wash their hands and touch ur baby.These were told by my paediatricain.I\";m sure ur baby will be in good health.Take care.Good luck.
