Unexplained Infertility:fungal infection

Hi all:

I am married for 4 years and never used any contraceptive. I have been trying to conceive seriously for about 2 years. I got all the possible test done. Couple of blood test, HSG, laproscopy, one failed IUI. My earlier doc suggested that i directly go in for ICSI as i am already 33 years of age and hubby too 33. We want to try it naturally so we went to another doc. She has been doing ovulation study for the past 3 cycles (earlier doc did not do any ovulation and directly suggested ICSI, me and hubby told we will first try IUI but it failed). Recently i have developed some fungal infection in and around vagina. Its become red and burns alot. So has hubbys foreskin. This cycle we could not mate becos it is burning very badly and the egg already ruptured. Doc asked us to try even if it burns but its impossible. She did not prescribe any medicine as its fertile period and sperms might die due to medicine. Why do you think it might have happened? Did any of you face the same problem? Kindly help...

Hi all,

I also have a fungal infection for abt 8yrs in an on and off condition causing itching watery type discharge. Treated under many gynecs.finally consulted with Dr. Nagarathna (Apollo Clinic, Bangalore). She given 2 tablets for me and for my hubby. Consume in same day. Thus the 8 year long problem went off.

Yea i totally agree... with me sometimes even after 4 years i feel some pain after sex :)). I think the delay makes us desperate and lot of strange thoughts keep arising... Everybody asks me to relax i wonder how i can do that.... when the next question every other person asks is what are your plans for family? Why dont you concentrate on having a child rather than working so much..... people i tell you. I hate every single person who has made me emotionally and physically (by going thru all treatments) drained. I am sorry i am venting all the thoughts as they come...

HI,

there is a site which explains the proceudre but i tried to post url but it is not allowing.
Usuaaly it does not pain, but it is itrusive procedure. they insert clinicaly washed semen deep in side vagina with use of cathater. it does not pain but i feel uncomfertable. they make you open your leg as wide as possible & continuously asked u to relax your lower body which is so difficult for me in that posistion. and also after inserting they make you lie down for 20-30 min. there & that time some of the mucus comes out bcs of the insertion, which makes u wet & uncomfertable lying on operation bed.
it did not pian me first 2 times. but in3 rd time i was feeling pain.

Sometimes i think when i go for it that if i am finding it this difficult how i am going to survive thru labour when i will get pregannat & actually deliever baby.

hi,
i had a infection problem for a long time. when i started treatment with my current gynec in march. i told her about infection problem that we r getting it every month after intercourse. she prescribed me some cream to apply & asked me to change panties twice a day (bcs i had frequent urination problem) & also to bath with nim soap to cure infection. also they suggested doing minor surgery for my hubby who had a longer foreskin & as aresult of perspiration in the fold of skin he & i were getting infection frequently.
she also did sonography at the time & found that my uterus size is smaller than normal so to increase the chance of conception she gave me course of injection for 10 weeks.
After that she started ovulation sudy & iui for me & we did 3 cycles with 1 break inbetween. but not succedded yet. i am going to try 3 more cycles of iui with her bcs i am quite comfertable with her approach & treatment. i am 33 & my hubby 37.

so first u should talk to your doctor & FIND OUT THE CAUSE & get both of u' s infection cured.
than u can go for ovulation study & u can try iui & natural method simulataneously like us.
BEST OF LUCK

hey thanks a ton for the advice. I think i will ask her to do that. Does it pain alot when you get IUI done. When i did IUI i did not feel any pain but when my sis in law did it she went through some pain. How is it actually done? Are the sperms injected with like we take normal injection?

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still... - SS [View Message]
