All the best for your test. I think, by the time you read my msg, you must be thru with the test. I have heard that the result doesn't come at least for 3-4 days. So don't be scared. Even if you get GD, it does not harm baby or you at all. The only problem may be that the baby will be oversize. But looking at your weight gain, I think you will not have GD. And even if you have, it can be controlled. And yes, even if they say that it depend on parents, one of my friend's father as well as mother are diabetic, but she did not had any problem with GD. So think positive and all the best.

I had slight bleeding during the initial stages of pregnancy and was asked to stay off my feet, so have been at home since.I am doing great pregnancy wise but bored at home since I got used to school, classes, schedules etc.

Hello Padmaja, I heard that girls can be carrier but its not must though. One of my cousin's parents are both diabetics. But she neither had any problem during pregnacy nor until now. So its like it may or may not. Even if there is no history of diabetics in our family we can get gd during pregnacy.
Thats why i told you before not to worry at all. Because you have everything under control.

Best wishes for the GD test. If you were having a good diet and sensible weight gain or everything was normal so far you don't need to worry about it at all. My doctor says Gd that begin in pregnacy is generally not dangerous for either the fetus or the mother and can be controlled. Mine will be done on next visit.
