Womens Issues:how should i respect my husband?

Name: jesse i m jesse,married to my husband for the past 3yrs.i am having trouble respecting him.i believe that a person should gain respect and not demand it.he always complains that i dont respect him enough but how am i supposed to respect him when he tals silly in front of company by telling all silly jokes,isnt dignified and gets teased by his friends for doing so.
believe me,i never wanted to be one of those wifes who doesnt respect her husband but somehow ,how much ever i try i simply cant get myself to respect him.for which i am feeling sad and also our relationship is hurting a little bit.so please advise me what i should do.

Why dont you you tell him as this incident happen that same day go home when he is relaxed in good mood.. tell him cooly \";I want to say some thing and say what he did was not good. You felt bad or you should tell you dont like his friends teasing you. Slowly he will understand and things will change\";.
