My daughter 10months old stopped eating food from last 10 days. She is just taking BM.
From last 3 days she caught very high fever (around 102-103)+ unusual stools after I feed her cerelac etc.
Consulted a paed. - says its kind of viral infection and stays for 6-7 days. Hasnt given any medicine except crocin/paracetamol. Can anyone suggest something. I am very worried as my childs health has come down and she has become very weak. Fever occurs every 4-5 hours and have to give Crocin to keep it down.

Hi Anu,
Its common when babies have stomach infection they dont eat much.Ur doctor is good that he didnt give any powerful medicines or antibiotics.Because antibiotics cant help viral infections.It helps only when they have bacterial infection.It takes its own course of time.u can give her rice cooked with plenty of water very soft.its good for her.even cerelac rice is good than the other variety for now.u can make it bit watery than the usual consistency.'coz when my son had it doctor advised to give like that.Most important keep giving ur baby every hour atleast 5 spoons of fluid.water or oral rehydration fluids suggested by ur doctor.she'll recover soon.dont worry.I used to give my son tender coconut water.Its good in vitamins and gives some energy 'coz they dont take any solid food.U can ask ur doctor before giving.take care.
