Hi I have the most sadist of inlaws (specially Mother inlaw) possible in India. Adding to them is the siater in law, who is younger than me, but bosses over me. I am from AP and ours is intercaste love marriage. Tough they accepted me reluctantly into the family, they started showing their true colors now. I had a baby boy one year after marriage. They told me during his baby hair offering at Tirumala that I should also get my head shaved. Let me tell you, my hair was much thicker and longer than both the other woman, but they convinced my husband that it is good to get me shaved. I had to undergo the tonsure for the first time in my life. Later they told me that it is just for fun they forced me to shave. Now I relaise that they had jealosy. the sister in law routinely waers all my good clothes and says that she being a college going girl can wear whatever she wants. My mother in law keeps abusing me for not bringing enough dowry and not briningg good luck to the house. I asked my husband to move out, but he says it is impossible. what should I do? It feels really hard that you got yourself shaved. I dont know what ur cas_te is but in Hindus, a lady used to get hair shaved when the husband dies (sorry, but this is in older times).

Also, though you say its been a love marriage, doesn' t seem like one. Your husband agrres to his mother and sis as if u don' t have a realtion with him.

I am sorry to say this, but you should reconsider whether ur hubby loves u or not. In such matters ur husband should be with you, atleast in stages of hair shaving...this is indeed extreem.

Think about where this relationship would lead you and take a right step...

ok, if u r not working right now, start working even from home is fine, if u can get a job outside then good or else, go and join tailoring class so that u can start ur own business at home itself, taking care of ur son at home... husbands will never believe easily that their family are wrong,so sometimes its good to have tough skin, tell ur sis in law that u dont like to share ur clothes with anybody.. a replied. very sad to hear this. i was shaken myself. u did not mention about whether u r working etc.wat does your hubby say as to why he wants to b there.does he not know thst u r being tortured. and one more thing,if u dont mind,which caste is your hubby' s family? tell us more details.may b we could see wat best can b done.
