But few of my friends advised me not to eat till i complete 3 months as it generates heat in our body.Today i had my doctor visit .She is a American and told me i can eat what ever i want.As she does not know much about Indian food.i want to know what i should do . i am having craving for chicken. Any suggestions from experts It would be a great help.

Of course you can eat chicken curry!! There is no need to wait for 3 months. Chicken is an excellent source of protein [which you need for the development of your baby' s organs, for the iron that helps your immunity, for your own body' s repair work]. I do realize that many people in India still stick to the age old theories about heaty food etc but all over the world people eat those same \" Heaty\" foods and they are fine with their pregnancies and deliveries!!
When pregnant it is best to use your common sense and not rely on old wives tales.

Sometimes during pregnancy you may get acidity or heartburn so make sure your curry is not too spicy. But if you can handle spice, go right ahead!!

diet during pregnancy
Maintaining a healthy diet during pregnancy is very important.

During this time, your body needs additional nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

In fact, you may need 350–500 extra calories each day during the second and third trimesters.

A diet lacking in key nutrients may negatively affect the baby’s development.
