Name: Shalini Hi, we are a childless couple based in US. We wanmt to adopt a baby girl not more than one year old. Please let me know the procedure if anybody has any information.

please help with adoption rules for NRI non citize

Hi,
I went though this site. It does not contain the names of the adoption agencies in India where we can apply. I am an H1b visa holder in usa not a citizen. I talked in usa for home study and they told me that they do only if one of the adoptive parents i citizen. which category we fall into. Does it mean that we can never have a child while we are in USA? As Indian call us NRIs and USA is not ready to do home study as we are not citizens? By the time i think i will be a usa citizen we would loose the age for adoption? Pleaes help any one.
