Hi Ladies,

I know its a wrong place to post this msg.. but thot it will be good to take ur advice....

I m a mom of 8.5 months old. Since birth my baby was given BM + Top feed(packet cow' s milk). I know I shunt have given Cow' s milk but due to ignorance I made that mistake.....thats an old story now. She is on semi-solids now.

I would liek to ask all the mom out there what shall I do to ensure healthy brain developement of baby. Is it possible for such small baby to have almonds?? what else could be given to make her a sharp n intelligent baby. I have heard that babies who are exclusively on mother' s Milk have very good IQ. I am afraid that my baby might not be very intelligent coz she has not taken enough B milk. Pls advice Mamas nisha replied. Hai sg,
Please don' t think too much about the milk fed.Try to give her more fat food like ghee, cheese, butter....Babies need more fat until 2 years for brain development.Many kids are allergic to almonds at this age.Please try to avoid almonds right now.Hope this helps you.Good luck.

as mothers we all sometimes worry aout unnecessary things about our little ones. i think now what you have also is such a one dear. sure, breast milk is the real food needed for baby' s growth in all means. but there is nothing to worry if you couldn' t do it. substituting formula (which is a lot better than cow' s milk) will not harm the baby. may be he will get more colic problems . which we can solve. i am not sure about these brain development theory and all. because i have real examples of very intelligent babies who aer exclusively formula and even cow' s milk fed. and below average kids who are exclusively breast fed. so nothing to worry dear. what i said is 100% from my experience.
but anyway you can give your baby good balanced diet which is age appropriate so he/she will grow healthy and which will help in this developmental stage. give mashed fruits and veggies. sweet potato ,carrots all fruits and veggies which he/she likes. i think for giving nuts you can wait till 1 year old. give him what his delicate digestie system can haldle. i am sure your baby also will grow up a very sharp intelligent kid. just be normal and give the very best you can in all ways.
