Breastfeeding:no milk

Hello everybody,

I am swati. My problem is from the first day I hardly got milk. I had a cecarian. But still my daughter came to my room the same day and I started feeding her in just 5 hours after the operation. But at that time everybody said that milk will come in 2/3 days. I waited and waited and still waiting. My daughter used to suck even when she used to get a few drops till 2 weeks back. But now she refuses to latch on as now I have started bottle. She is 4 months old now Till then I was feeding formula milk with cup and spoon. I feel guilty not giving her my milk.

I have a question, has anybody faced such a problem? I feel I am the only mother who is not being able to feed her baby. While all mothers around me in my social circle are atleast being able to give 2/3 times bm. But I am not being able even once, as it is not at all sufficient for one time.

HI..

I had a csection too.I was able to interact with a lactation consultant in the hospital. From day one if u start pumping a lil with the manual breast pump , slowly U will find the supply. Its tuff but till ur baby starts really taking the milk properly from u , u have to pump just to have a stimulation , then immeditately feed her.. u can find a external nipple shield from the phramacy or so , and try to make her latch..!

Hope it works!!!

YOu should have contacted the doctor. My son is 5 months old. I started getting milk after 5 days ( after his birth) I bought the pump( Medala Advaced Style) to incresae the milk production. Also you do not get the milk from the first day. It takes about 3 to 5 days. Milk is also based on demand and supply; if you feed the formula your daughter will not suck properly and your milk supply will not increase. But again if you think she keeps sucking but no milk you should contact a doctor. Another thing you can try to rent a breast pump from the hospital ( If you live in US) and see you are getting milk or not..Try to pump every 2 to 3 hours and see if you get the milk...Message your breast while pumping...
If you still do not get the milk; talk to your doctor(if you want to breast feed your daughter).
Take Care!!!

Hi I stay in Lucknow. But was in Delhi for my delivery. My uncle and aunt are themself doctors, but they also could not help out. I tried the Breast pump, hot compress and neither did i start giving my child formula in bottle. I tried all types of homely remedies, and tried to latch her every 2 hours for the 1st 1 month but due to less milk she started loosing weight, more than normal. So the doctor suggested to increase the formula and continue bf. I tried to pump out milk but unfortunately the pump also din't work for me.

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me. It is a fantasy that drives me wild like nothing else, just the thought of laying my head in a woman's lap while she brings her swollen nipples to my mouth. Ideally, I'd like to finally explore this with the right female. If you are in or near... - Sanjayhyd [View Message]
