myself pooja from delhi, i m having a son \";Maanav\"; of 1 yr. 3 months only, my problem is i just want to make him leave breastfeed.

i m a working mother, and the maanav is having a very bad habit that, whenever in holidays, or sundays i'll be at home, he never leave me for a second, i feel so embaraased that i can't even visit anywhere, he just doesnt want to leave me for a sec. and never takes any solid, or any bottle feed when i'll be on leave or so..

kindly help me out, and tell me the possible suggestions so that i may feel comfort and make him feel comfort too.

thx.

pooja

i am wondering how to help you if you stay with a joint family and your son can be with the other members of the family and you can by consulting the doctor gain weight and stop breastfeeding by avoiding the child if you live alone with your husband its time we send the child to a daycare centre and keep him a bit far say i am not well go and play with the toys try to distract him as much as possible i hope this answers your question sent on march 31

i think you are depressed about the boy not leaving you and assuming you dont stay in a joint family or otherwise . i would suggest how to keep away from the baby by attracting his attention to playing with other children of his age group so see neighboors friends and try to maintain your weight your problem will be solved very soon i pray tell me how this advice was and did it help

from your message to nilini i found that you are underweight.so please take good care of you.try this if u are feeding...first stop 1 feeding and try giving him whole milk or yougurt made with whole milk or juice etc.if you suceed try to stop 2 feedings.you can also give him different kind of mashed fruits and vegitables like banana, peech, mango he will surely like it and it can stop his hunger and urge to breast feed for sometime or just distract him with some songs or childrens related program .you can even take him for a walk or ride.
and you take good nutrition rich food so you wont go low on energy.
and it will be always good if you ask some more ideas from his pediatrition and your lactation consultant.

I understood your problem to tell you the truth never mind breastfeeding till the child is 2 years old and you being a working mother dont try any ideas or suggestions in fact you should be proud not embarassed breastfeeding You dont tell how many feeds your son is given a day and from that i could calculate what to do as my 28 month old tvins are fed thriuce a day early morning, afternoon, and at bedtime and if i go out i prefer breastfeeding i would recomend you reduce breastfeeding slowly not in a hurry that can be critical and from your message it seems you are not sure how long you,ve breast fed a reason your son wants to breastfeed now to make up the loss after you resumed your job so take no hasty actions consider everything carefully and follow my advice and tell me what you think

dear Nalini Kolgad

first of all, thx. for advising me, u r right with ur opinion, i respect and agreed for that, bt the problem is coz, of my feed, he is not taking any solid at the age of 1 yr. 3 months which is bad for his health, and even doctor has now told me that i m going very low, as my weight is only 40 kg. (can u beleive) and doctor has advised me to first stop breastfeed.

i tried karela, and even neem but no use... i m in a fix, and don know wat to do now...???

my idea is please dont try chille.you can try something bitter like neem or karela like that.or please ask your pediatrition or lactation consultant for some ideas.chilli may hurt your babys eyes.so please dont try that.

RE:Adult breast feeding
I was not breastfeed in my childhood hence the idea of sucking and feeding from a woman's full, engorged breasts has infatuated me.
