I think theres lot of herd mentality around us. We all fall victim to it one way or the other. We all go with fashion trends, some of us are concerned with being with the in - crowd. We all do the popular things such as engineering, medical, MBAs, we don' t seek careers that are off the beaten track. Even in trying to be individuals we are actually copying others....

Hmmmm sounds like that global village theory that Mcluhan proposed what with the think local and act global. I find its a bit of a paradox if you fit in yet stand out at the same time. Yeah its doable but you are like standing with both feet on either sides of the fence.

These days lot of people are going for off beat careers. I think things are looking up. The winds of change are blowing, slowly but surely. There is nothing wrong in wanting to fit in. The trick is in doing both together - fitting in and standing out. think locally, act globally.
