i am a very social person. i love making friends, going out and even organising get togethers but my kids are opposite. They are shy and do not like mixing up. They do not take initiative in making friends and never even go out to play. when i was of their age, i had many friends and still i do have but i am worried about their future. without active social life, living alone would be very difficult. Please help

i agree that in todays times an active social life is very important. Kids who are loners have many problems. If you are active socially and your kids are not then i think someone from your family must have this type of nature. such nature is hereditary. Kids also learn from surroundings. continue making friends and also take your kids along so that they overcome their shyness and gradually open up. Instead of scolding them or making fun of them, try to explain them patiently. I hope you will bring about a change in your kids.
