How did you go about finding the right doctor when you were pregnant? Do you insist on knowing each detail of different procedures? Do you think one should trust the doctor completely?

hi..

My first girl was Normal. And the doc is just too good. If the head of baby is positioned properly and cord not entangled the neck then i think it has to be normal, as far as the pain is concerned it depends on how much a lady can take it. Some people scream a lot and some just not open mouth. Some make so much fuss that docs have to take them for C sec. I think if we need normal delivery, we shd just put confidently across to the docs, so that docs will also feel confident. Just to tell whatever the pain we are ready to bear, but in for NORMAL. If this is the attitude from the beginning, no doc can force on C Sec uless its very complicated.

Well.. Yes most of the times i do.,. I do insist on getting details of everything , do lots of R&D on google to reconfirm what she has told me ... The first step to this is getting a well qualified , experienced , concerned doctor. Make sure you' ve got one whom you can trust.. I am in Pune and I have Dr.Bina Kamat in Aditya Birla Hospital and she is just superb..

I did not like the part where the woman wanted to abort her baby. Children are a gift from God and if you do not want them, at least give them up for adoption so that someone else can look after them. No one should kill their own child.

I don' t understand this trend of doing caesareans when you have a normal delivery. Caesarean has become very common for people just because they are scared they do not want any pain. Also people think that you lose your figure if you have normal birth. Its all nonsense.

Subject:  C-Section

Hi Anuradha,
I don´ t think most of the people go for a C-section by choice . Its a major surgery and takes much longer to heal. Nowadays babies are bigger (blame it on the wonderful lifestyle we have) , Diabetic and High-BP Moms , position of the baby and the constant endeavor of the docs to save the baby and the mom leads to C-Section. There may be bad docs who do this to make money but not everyone does that .. Lets thank the medical fraternity for making C-Section so safe that a lot of us can have babies even when everything is not perfect (like the baby´ s head :-))

This is a very well-written article. In the olden days, people never used to ask the doctors anything. They were not well-educated so whatever the doctor told them, they obeyed the instructions. Nowadays, people understand these things better so they want to know more about them.
