I am 3 months pregnant and am currently consulting Dr.Nandini Devi of Indira clinic Malleswaram. She is also a doc at columbia asia and Northside Manipal. Is any of you under her care? I would like to know how good she is and if she is pro-normal delivery. Also how is Columbia asia hospital? Do they encourage normal delivery?
Any info will be appreciated.
Dhanya.

Any info will be appriciated
sowmya replied. Many ppl are with the wrong opinion that many gyanaecs now a days do not wait for normal delivery and ther do a section to mint money. But I do not agree with it, nandini devi was my consultant and she waited patiently hoping that I would deliver normally, but after attempting they decided to do a section. what matters is not the type of delivery but whether the baby is in good condition or not. If the bay' s pulse rate is reduces within the womb, then whats the point in waiting for a normal delivery, at the moment the baby' s life is precious and it has to be saved
Sowmya replied. I delivered last nov 2008 in Northside manipal and Dr.Nandini Devi was my consultant. She is a very good experienced gynaec if you are planning to consult her.
Both the hospitals are good but Columbia Asia is a little more expensive, if you have any insurance coverage then you can opt for columbia asia.
Pooja replied. Hi, I am currently in my 6th month, in Gurgaon, but will be travelling to Bangalore for my delivery. I am looking for the best option for delivery. From what I hear, Asia Columbia sounds like a good option. But I am concerned about how expensive it would turn out. Also, do they provide good neonatal services? Any advice would really be appreciated.
Sunshine replied. Hi Dhanya,
How r u doing?
Can you share the address & contact details of Dr.Nandini Devi?
I am currently with Dr.LeelaRao (Lakshmi Maternity Home, Malleswaram) but I am not completely confident of the hospital facilities, though the doctor is very good.
I am in two minds and I want to make sure I chose the right doctor.
Any advice from your end would be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Sunshine
Sunshine replied. Hi Dhanya,
A friend of mine had a normal delivery at Columbia Asia Hospital couple of days ago. She was actually quite nervous till the end as her first child was a caesarian delivery. I am not sure who the doctor was. I will try to find out.
I am planning to have a baby by early next year. I went for a pre-pregnancy checkup to Dr.LeelaRao, Lakshmi Maternity Home, Malleswaram. She was good and put me & my husband at complete ease. She did a routine blood test for sugar, thyroid & hemoglobin and adviced me to start taking MCBM-69 tablets. She also asked me to pull down 4-5kgs, which I have been unsuccessful so far :(
Do share your experience with Dr.Nandini Devi of Indira clinic, Malleswaram. Where exactly is this clinic?
All the best

I did not find Indira Clinic expensive (that was 4 yrs ago though). Columbia Asia is on the expensive side. Currently dr Nandini does not take up delivery cases.
