Hi Jayanthi, this is a very small problem dear you can actually give glass with straw. He will like it and then slowly the kid will stop drinking milk from this straw as well. I did this for my son so you can surely try.

A family friend of mine had the same problem when she was trying to make her son stop drinking milk from his bottle and shift to glass. Her son used to drink milk from the bottle till the age of five and half years.

Children usually don't like chances and they like doing what they know and what they are comfortable in. Since your son is used to drinking milk from the bottle it would be a lil difficult to shift him but keep trying.

I agree with Ayanna. The "bottle fairy" usually works and the child feels very import when rewarded as a "big boy".

He is in a habit of drinking milk in his bottle so now if you try taking it away from him he will oppose but you will have to trick him into it. You can tell him that you will take him to the park if he finishes his milk without the bottle.

It is not a good idea to try to change his habits all of a sudden. Make it a habit that in the start you give him milk in the bottle once and the other time in the glass or a mug. Get in pretty mugs for milk.

Hi Jayanthi,
It is the common for any one because all of sudden it would be very hard for any one to change. It would be better make him try a new ones then definitely he will move from bottle to glass. Many things were in market.

I would like to go with Ayanna’s suggestion. It is logical and it will be easily accepted by kids. My daughter is 2 years now and planned to use the same, if in case needed.

I would have your son take all his bottles and put them in a bag. Then you tell him because he is a big boy now, the \";bottle fairy\"; is going to come get the bottles and give them to all the babies and will give him a nice gift in return.

You have him put the bottles outside your house before he goes to bed and when he wakes up in the morning- the bottles are gone and he has a new gift (Something he's wanted for a bit). This way- you can toss the old bottles and reard him for being a big boy.

This has worked well for a couple of families I know. Just make sure to remind him it's because he's a big boy and this is a reward for him.

I imagine he won't think twice about not having a bottle after doing this.
