Speech:17 Month old and her speech
2003-08-02
Name: Mommie

I have a 17 month old girl. She says \";Momma\";. This is all she ever says, is it okay; is it normal for a baby this age to have only one word to say?

I thank you in advance for your reply

If you don't know, know it now.
One of the World's greatest scientist started speaking only after 3 years. Don't worry long way to go

Mommie, this is normal.
My son who is now 3 years old, has started to speak few sentences recently. At the time of 17 months, i still remember he was only saying mummy - mummy. nothing else. and i was getting worried like you. But now he is Ok. So dont worry coz some children's speech comes little bit late.

Cheer up!!

Dear Priya,
Thank you for your reply, and, thank you for reassuring me everything is okay with my daughter. I can't begin to tell you how much better I feel now that someone else has experienced that with their child.

I will just enjoy her saying "Momma" and know at least she is calling for me. :)

Take care and have a great day

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Shoranur kerala samajam Ayurveda hospital review
Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
