Do you give your kids an allowance or 'pocket money'?

If not, perhaps it's time you started. Giving a child an allowance has numerous benefits, and it inculcates a sense of responsibility in your child.

How much?

Be logical about the amount of pocket money you are giving your kids. If it is just a token and you know your kids will come running to you the minute they need to buy something exciting, and you wont hesitate to fork over the money (if, of course, you feel their demand is reasonable), you're not doing the right thing.

How much salary would you give your child?

I think pocket money is a good thing. The reason why i think it's a good thing because your giving your child an oppuunity to learn how to save their money. But giving your child to much money can sometimes be a bad thing. You should start off giving them little money when their young. sometimes if you don't give your child money at all, specially teens they go sneaking around or taking money from you. It can happen! Good luck wit u all!

Pocket money should not be governed by any law, but by watching the necessary needs of child like bus fare, purchasing stationary etc and if it for any friend it should be pre approved and discussed.

I have a son who is 12 years old. he gets a pocket money of Rs. 200/-. He, however, is always out of money. The amount should be small but reasonable.
