Does your teen go out on dates? What rules have you set for him regarding dating? Are you comfortable with your teen dating?

Dating, when carried out properly, is a good thing. Dating need not mean a boy and girl going out alone. Many people choose to date as a group, which is a safe activity. If staying out at night is an issue, why not have your teen go on a lunch date? There is a solution to every problem.

My son has just started to show an interest in girls. Still, I don' t feel that we would allow him to date. It is not part of Indian culture. Also, we would not feel comfortable with him being out so late in the night. He will get a bad reputation.

Although dating is a Western concept, I don´ t feel there is any harm in it. It helps teenagers to become more sure of themselves. It also encourages healthy relationships between teens. Would you want your son to go through his life without being able to speak normally to girls, and later on, women?
