Hello all,

I have a baby girl who is 7.5 months old. I am exclusively breastfeeding my daughter except solids/water and juices. For the past few days, she is getting up every 3 hours in the night to feed. Is this common? Should I train her to take water instead? Please advise.

Hema natasha replied. Hema,I too have a sone who is now 8 months old and i too am facing te same problem for the past 1 month .. and am not able to understand the reason for the same..

i think we shud try giving them something filling so that they can sleep for most of the time during the night.. and water sounds a good option.. shud try it.. and as u have mentioned, hunger every 2 hrs in day time is quite normal.. so long as ur baby can digest it..

Jyothi replied. For the first 4 months, babies should be fed only on mother's milk, After 4 months you should slowly start liquid foods slowly followed by semi solid and solid foods, 1 yr old baby can take any solid food, like the adults only problem is they can not chew.
