Hi i m Rosemina
and i have 2 month old Baby girl
my concern is... i m giving her breast milk .... by expreesing through breast pump cos direct breast feeding takes soo much time and painful too and when i express my milk i know she drinks 3 to 4 Oz and in this way i m also satisfying that she is getting her full feed... now my concern is that if i m express my milk after 3 to 4 hours and it is enough for her too .... but if i will not breat feed her directly .. my milk will produce lower day by day????
and one more thing.... i m giving her my milk plus formaula (if necessary ....(in ths middle of the night )or if i m soo tird and dono wanaa to express my milk in ths middle of the night .... tell me is this Okiez to give her once formula feed in 24 hours?????
and i usually expree 1 oz or two oz after two hours some times and store in the fridge and then after two hours again exprees my milk and put it the same bottle to make the level of 4 to fiveoz which is enough for her for one time
so is this okiez to collect the milk in the same bottle though they are express in different times
and for example if she drink 2 out of 4 oz i again put this bottle in the fridge Is this okiez???
pls answer my questions
i always store my milk in the refrigerator and not in the room temp .....
i m waiting for your replies
Thanxs and best of luck
Love

Hi,
I guess its pretty late but i thought i will anyway reply for this specific question.
\"; if she drink 2 out of 4 oz i again put this bottle in the fridge Is this okiez\";
my ped said NO reason is baby touched nipple and salaiva got into the milk, so there is chances of bacterial infection. so after one hr of baby touching the nipple, that milk is waste. Infact they instructed us to sterilize the nipple once a day. I know its bugging, specially to my husband, to take one ounce in another bottle , warm it, if baby wants more, take out more and warm it, till then either baby falls asleep or is very crancky but thats what we do, either throw remaning milk or take little.

Breast feeding is probably \";better\"; however formulas are created for newborn babies so there is no problem there. What you should be careful of is that if you give her formula reguarly your milk supply will become lower. Expressing will not lower your milk supply.
I found the following info for you...
Question: Can I mix breast milk that I pump at two different times? Answer: Yes, certainly. If you are doing a lot of pumping, try to mix batches pumped around the same time. The most common scenario is pumping on Tuesday and adding it to milk that you pumped on Monday. If the milk is already frozen, be sure that you cool the milk down before adding it to what is already pumped.
In other words, if you have one ounce pumped, cool it, and add only that ounce to the frozen supply. Only add cold milk to cold milk or cold milk to frozen milk. Because you never want to waste breast milk, you might consider freezing it in relatively small amounts. This way, if your baby doesn't take it all, you won't be throwing it out.
Question: If I give my baby a bottle of pumped breast milk and he doesn't finish it at one sitting, can I give it to him to finish at a later time? And how much later?
While most health professionals will tell you to discard the unused breast milk, it is really hard to throw it out! After all, you worked twice for this precious food: First your body made it, and then you had to pump it!
One very small study (of six women) indicated no significant difference between bottles that were partially consumed and those that were not exposed to the baby's mouth for five of the six participants. Though this project provided evidence that it may be safe to re-feed a child a bottle of breast milk, because the study sample was so small, further tests should be performed.

The milk was expressed, stored in a 4- to 6-degree Centigrade refrigerator for 12 to 36 hours, warmed to 37 degrees Centigrade, partially fed to an infant, and stored in the refrigerator for 48 hours. Clean, but not sterile, techniques were followed during the initial storage and feeding. Based on this study, which admittedly needs to be done on a larger scale, it would seem to me that expressed breast milk, fed to the baby, partially consumed, and then refrigerated, could be used for one more feeding no more than four hours later. That's probably fairly conservative. One of the best tests of whether the milk is spoiled is to do what you do with cow's milk: Smell it and taste it!

hi my name is heena,i wanted to answer ur questions
1) first of all ur baby is too small to give formulas. it is only advisable if u don't get enough milk. when u are at home try to give her ur milk as much as possible.
2) you must breast feed at least for two years only if due to some reasons the milk u giveis less as when ur child is 7-8 months u feel it is less then give formula or u also will start giving her home made food now it may be less if u dont breastg feed dear
3) its always advised that when ever in a bottle u feed ur child wicthmilk and milk finishes u must sterlize and give milk againin anoyther bottle.
