Hi,
My ped has prescribed multi-vitamin (ViSyneral) for my baby since he was 6 weeks old and iron suplements(Mumfer)since 10 weeks old.
Are these really necessary?(i'm asking because he has prescribed them as a matter of routine)

I started multivitamin drops (5) of Hovite to the baby. But ped prescribed iron suppliement only after my daughter turned 6mnth.

hi august mom,
i think, more than your child, if oui take a good and natural multivit suppliment and an iron suppliment containing Folic acid in it, it will be much better, coz the baby will get its requirement from your milk. The folic acid is especially necessary for its brain and spinal development..

Till when should we take iron and calcium supplements?i took them for about 4 months after my baby was born.now she is 7 months old,i am still breast feeding her, but stopped taking any supplements now. is that fine or should i continue?r u a Bangalore based doctor?
