Thank you guys for so many responses. Now that the initial shock is wearing off I do realize its not that bad (however a secret part of me still wishes it hadnt happened).
I have been talking to a bunch of friends who went through this and mostly everybody could control it via diet and exercise, I am hoping to be in the same boat.
Vindhya, thanks for the note. Good luck on your GTT. But I would be too worried if the first one was clear (damn!! the smug attitude again... gotta change that!!) Am praying for you and hoping you come out all clean.
Avi, am due in the first week of Nov, and yeah it isnt too far away so things should be fine.
Rekha, I am sure the three hour isnt too complicated, and as Avi mentioned as well, its better that GD gets detected rather than go unnoticed. Good luck anyways!!
Thanks for the note Rama. Hope things are well with you.
Ruchika, dont be too scared. I do realize I overreacted now. About 20-30% of South Asian women get GD, and msotly everyone of these sails through their pregnancy. Lots of exercise helps as well. Having said all that, I am sure you will be just fine!! Do let me know.
Ashra, I did talk to the Doc about the three hour test and she didnt feel it was wise to subject the baby or me to more glucose when we had already got conclusive results from the first one. Come to think of it, it does make sense. Hope you are well!! When is the baby due?
Thanks y'all!!! Really appreciate the warm thoughts!!
