Hi,

I am a mother of a 2+ year old girl. We are now planning to have a second child and we want it to be a boy this time. I am not sure about how I can time our intercourse to ensure that. I have done a lot of research about the male sperms being faster and being with less life span and the female sperms being slower and with greater life span. Also I have read about the vaginal environment which also contributes to the sex determination. I have trouble finding out my ovulation date. I have my periods regulraly around 30 - 32 days. Without the help of ovulation predictor kit, is it possible to find the exact ovulation date. I have read about the cervical mucous way of determination. When am I ovulating once I notice the cervical mucous for the first time ? How many hours after that should we bed to have a boy.

Also before having sex if we have vaginal douching with water and baking soda, will it alter my vaginal evnironment to be alkaline. Please clarify..

I am proud of you because you have done a good amount of search and I bet you will understand what I mean in this message.

We can only increase chances of one particular sex of baby, but can't guarantee as to you will hit sucess. You are referring to Dr. Shettle's method and that's been of 80% sucess, better than guess work or chance event.

If you want desperately boy, which is common in Indian culture then may be you don't want to have intercourse until your Ovulation Prediction Kit test is positive. Read instructions on Ovulation Prediction Kit and plan intercourse accordingly, I need not to make suggestion as I think you know more on this aspect. Ovulation Prediction Kits are not that expensive and even if they are it's worth, what if finally you hit what you want.

Vaginal environment contribute a lot to choose sex as much as sperm type. To boost chances of boy you can follow baking soda while bathing prior to intercourse, will enhance, can't guarantee.

Some mens produce more X-sperms and that will hinder getting boy no matter how much you plan on timing and environment. But when you don't know that from your partner you can try work on your timing and environment.
