Hi!
Can anyone tell me the precautions and/or tips to make soft rotis without the use of oil/ghee? what should i do to make soft rotis, well cooked evenly, without geting burnt, which remains soft even after 6-7 hours in the lunch box? My husband doesnt like the use of cloth or aluminium foil to wrap rotis. Any suggestions to keep them soft?

mix the with hot water, 1 tsp olive oil and pinch of salt. the dough is supposed to soft and let it sit covered for 30 min.
when making the roti, roll it only on one side. put it on hot tava and let the bubbles come.then turn and lt bubbles come again. The press the roti with wet towel gntly.Keep turning and donot let the roti sit on tava unturnd longer than 30-40 sec. Remove from heat and put in box lined with tissue and and cover with lid immediately.

Rotis stay soft for two days also..

Hey! I just keep them in a covered plastic box directly from the tava. It stays soft. And you can try adding 1tbls cream or milk while making the dough. I don't put any ghee or oil anytime.

Hi Mayuri!
Thanks for your suggestion.
1 more question right from the basics. how do i ensure that the roti gets cooked evenly? i dont know how to make them properly. though the rotis looked well cooked n soft when hot, by the time i take them out of the lunch box, i can see patches of a different colour, as if that portion has remained uncooked.
