They use cradles in USA & Jhoola in india to put the baby to sleep by the motion. Is this the truth that they sleep longer & more calmly with jhoola? I havent bought one but i am so worried about my baby's sleep now. She is 2 weeks but just takes small naps. Initially i tied her aroung & she slept 2/3 hours at strech but now 1 hour is maximum..... I am also worried that if she doesnt sleep properly she will not get healthier.....Pls help

Hi Niki -

I had a cradle for my son and it worked but I didn't want to get him in the habit of going to sleep with the motion so I never turned it on. Instead I would put on very slow music for him and I still do and he is 1.5 years old.

Your child is fine and every child is different so maybe your little one just doesn't want to sleep so much or maybe she is hungry. Are you nursing or bottle feeding or both?

I would suggest that you swaddle your little one and that helps because they feel comforted.

I wish you a lot of luck...please reply and let me know how things are going and if I can help in any other way.

Hi there
I do breastfeeding in the day time & bottle at nights/ So its combinatation of both. She drinks enough of milk so i dont think she shud be hungry/

I used to swaddle her but she cries a loud & screams so i am so scared to even do that now.... Ive to hold her in the rocking chair or my dh wud do that at night for 1 hour or so & only then she sleeps. Just hoping everything improves further......

Sleep Problem due to itchy skin
My baby girl is unable to sleep properly due to skin rashes. I have resumed oil massages to help calm her down and facilitate better sleep, using CITTA Baby Massage Oil. Additionally, I am applying the ointment recommended by her doctor for the rashes. Could you please provide me with more ideas that can promote better sleep for her?... - Sanchari Tarafdar [View Message]

RE:How to Develop a Sleep Routine for your Newborn
According to me this is good but then you cannot force your child to sleep as per your wish as kids as really bad in this and they have a tendency to sleep in day and get up in late night so according to me this is not the key to success, please post if i am wrong.... - Anita [View Message]
