Hi everybody!!

So I took the 1 hour GTT and failed :-( ...I am still in a state of shock because i was pretty confident about clearing it (dont have any diabetic in the family, dont eat too many sweets, hadnt put on too much weight, wasnt overweight to start with). Anyways, goes on to show that a smug attitude doesnt always work.

The Doctor didnt want me to come back for the 3 hr test as the results of the first one were significantly high. Anyways, have started the diet and \";exercise regimen\";. Will keep you all updated!!

Ashra, so sorry couldnt answer your post, the weekend was very hectic and didnt get a chance to answer back. Did learn about a lot of new places though. Hope you had a good weekend.

Radhika Simmi replied. hi radhika. sorry to hear about ur result. i'm sure though with diet and control, like ur doc said, u will overcome this issue. don't let any stress or negative thought bother u. the baby should get all the happy hormones from u and surely u will have a happy and healthy baby. all the very best. I feel sorry to know that ur GT was high :-( But hey dont worry..I wonder y didnt ur doctor call u for 3hr test?? as of i heard 1 hr test seems to be not that accurate..as of u know Bargavi & Nikki frm oct forum ,even they levels were high around 151,166 but they went back for 3 hr test & cleared ,now they r relived.. if possible ask ur OB that if u can go for 3 hr test...u shud be fine..take care...My weekend was really good. i went & exchanged my travel sys & bought a new one ...also i went 4 a 12 months old Bday party i was so nice to look at all little ones out there..i cant wait to see my tweetly..9 mons seems to be long isn't..

I am really sorry to hear that. I am so scared after hearing your results. My test is on 20Aug.

But you have to take care of yourself. Try to be strict on diet plan your doc has suggested. Don't think too much about it. Be Happy coz these are very important months of your pregnency.

this really scares me i have to go for the GT directly for the 3 hour one. My doc doesnt do a 1 hr test. i am scared though i dont eat sweets too..but last year my sis had developed GD and i am scared with that..

rekha Avi replied. Hey Radhika, Sorry to hear about the outcome of your test...you must be disappointed.

Hey, if it is of any consolation - it is a good thing that the problem was detected. YOu can now move on and not worry or be distressed about it, instead you can concentrate on making things better for you and your baby. If I am not mistaken, you are due in late October so take good care of yourself for a little more than a couple of months and you will have a happy and a healthy baby.

I haven't spoken to you before, but feel very sorry to hear about the test results.

Being on the right diet will help you overcome this. Its less than four months for the delivery, so I am sure everything will be Ok after that. Don't think about the results, just think about your baby. You'll forgot everything.

I don't know when my GT will be, I had one at 18 weeks. I think that was too early. I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday. I'll have to ask.

Just follow your doctor's instructions for the diet & exercise.
