I am a working mother of 2yrs & 9 month old child.My child cries a lot during nights ,before sleeping & after sleeping also . But he always does this when I am around. When i left him alone, other members of family were there, but I wasnt there, he didnt get up the whole night. Though he loves me a lot, but always hit me, shows his anger to me only & when I ask during his sleep why is he crying,he wont say anything & will start hitting me with his legs. Even when he is in deep sleep & I go to loo in the mid of night, he will suddenly wake up & will start crying not to go, u will not go .Also he wets his bed 4-5 times a night. I am unable to complete my sleep, due to nappies change & his cry, which affects my office life. Please help nandini replied. dear bhawana,

The behaviour is worrisome and looks like that of a traumatised child and one who is very angry with you for not being able to help him. When you go to work who looks after him? If one is not able to take care of a toddler oneself it is always a better idea to keep him or her in a professional day care center. I used to leave my two year old son with a babysitter at home when going to work. My child used to behave similarly with me. I subsequently discovered the baby sitter was carrying on a roaring affair with the dhobi in my house. One can imagine the kind of attention and treatment my poor child would have been getting. that is why I am responding very empotionally to your case. After my own experiendce with the baby sitter, i quit working for a year, and then put him in a good school with daycare facilities. I don' t say you have to quit, that is not a practical solution i agree, but look deeply and objectively in the kind of day care he is getting in your absence. The clue to his anger will be there.
