Relationships do not always run smoothly and in some cases the communication links, routine of life, changes of personality, bad anchoring, negative thoughts and general life stress can get between a couple and the relationship may break down to the extent that the relationship is in danger of ending. In this situation many people realise that they have to get professional help from a counsellor or person to mediate. This is a fantastic idea because [logically] if you already knew how to fix the relationship - you would have done it already- so finding a professional to start creating a resolution to your relationship ills starts with admitting that there is a problem and then allowing a third party to intervene. Therapists and counselors aim to provide the answers to questions that may have been the cause of the problem. The problem with most ' marriage counsellors' is, however, that they hardly ever SOLVE the problem and FIX the relationship. They aim to mediate - essentially allowing fighting to continue in a safe environment and this does NOT recreate the love that was once there. It just allows each person to ' feel okay' if they decide to get a divorce. This is all well and good if that is what you want - but is TOTALLY CRAZY if what you want is to BE TOGETHER.
