wud u gals suggest some good mithai shops over in sunnyvale & fremont area apart frm lovely sweets, as i am craving a lot for sweets these days i am planning to visit fremont/sunnyvale this weekend just to buy some good sweets..it wud be gr8 if u guys cud tell some mithai shops

You are right Vindhya, I did try Priya out too a few months back......Their gulab jumums are really good..

There is a Bombay palace in Berkeley too and the food is alright, but Priya is definetly good compared to others in Berkeley.. Breads of India is pretty good too.

Viks..yummmm.....Man, I am pregnant, I never got so excited about food ever.

Have you tried the following places?

Taste of India in Fremont. The address is:

Raja Sweets in Union City:

Raja Sweets in Hayward:
1275 Winton Ave,
Hayward, CA

I like the ones they sell at Vik's chaat corner in Berkeley. I think, they buy from Raja sweets, I am not too sure.

The best gulab jamuns I 've had was at Priya restaurant in Berkeley. Sorry, Bombay Palace.

I have a question for you both, are you talking about Bombay Palace in Fremont. Is there one in Berkeley too?

cure for your sweet tooth...........

Hi Again Ashra, I live near Berkeley and I usually hang around SanFran and Oakland. The last time I was in the Fremont/Sunny vale area was a couple of years ago, so I am ignorant of anything in those areas.

There are a lot of Indian stores on University Ave in Berkeley and most of the restaurants have a huge Indian sweet collection, so if you are ever near Berkeley you should try some of em out. I love the gulab jamuns in Bombay Palace (one of the restaurants I've been to lately). yummmmmmmm, look what you've done now Ashra -you've got me craving for them- :)

I am sure there are a lot more stores in Sunny vale and Fremont cause of the abundance of Indians there.....

Hi Avi,
Thx for the immediate reply..Dont be sorry that u cudnt help me ...it was so nice to get a reply... as i was going to Haas school of Business i have been to Bomabay palace many times & have tasted out everything as much i cud..when ever i get a break frm class i keep checking out all the store out in Univ Ave...since i was planning to go to sunnyvale to have a good southindian meal at Saravana Bhavan i was thinking of getting some sweets as we cant go that far everyweekend...& frm one of my friend i heard charulatha bengali cusine has got very good bengali sweets..so probably i will check out tomm..
