Hi I am a researcher in childhood education and in contrary to a lot of preschools who claim on Montessori Method of teaching I would just like the parents to be aware that Montessori Method works best only while teaching Mathematics. English, Concepts ,History, Geography etc. cannot be taught effectively to Montessori Method. You should look for preschools which have a blend of teaching methodologies as well as caters to your child' s multiple intelligence. NN replied. Teachers may chose their own methods or styles for teaching but they ultimately aim that the concept must be gone for the children only. Montessori is always under controversy as parents really can never understand as even a teacher takes three years of work to be born as a montessorian....we call the first three years as gestation period for a teacher.....Montessori Method is a philosophy that helps teachers and parents look at the child in a new light.....it is completely supported by scientific high precision material that helps a young child exprience concrete concepts and then the child is helped to move to abstraction....before having any opinion about montessori and write about it in a public forum you need to take out 15 days time to go through all areas of learning for example in maths you will as an adult take 3 days to go through the material at a very superficial level it has detailed decimal system, fractions, geometry and vast material to explore the four basic mathematic operations, deconomial, binomial and trinomial squares, cubes and beads and lots more, then when you move on to geography you have maps, control charts, flags, land and water forms (models) people and places n cultures, there are inumerable science activities and lifecycles that children study..... they study detailed geometry work with constructive triangles and the entire botany cabinet. The language area is vast and teaches every part of grammar in a beautiful way and in a way that the child can never forget.

Also all undertraining staff are sent not for an internship but Observation and practice teaching to all montessori school.

Montessori method is a conservative method and these schools are the ones that never advertise as the number of students in the school has to be limited.So they really are not into \" cheating unsuspecting innocent parent\" Montessori schools work on tailor made curriculums for each child.

Moiza hamsapriya replied. i am a resource person who has worked with preschool children for the past 15 years . i do not completely agree with your view that montessori works only for mathematics it works well in all areas provided the concept of montessori is thoroughly understood by the practitioner . one thing is for sure , i it is not time bound as other methods , and the child is allowed to learn at his or her own space . this may pose a problem for our indian system of education , where the child is dictated as to what he has to learn at what age . may be the malaise is in our system rather than the montessori system ronith replied. I really don' t think you are a researcher in childhood education.
If at all you are one you better work in some other area becasue
you don' t even know the basics of the childhood education.So I' m not going to the details of the Montessori approch. I believe you wouldn' t understand.

Any parents who send their kids to Montessori classes will disagree with your foolish statement. Have a look at the recent article in times of india. I hope atleast you can read and make out something from this article.
