Due Date Club November 2003:a good night's sleep
2003-08-01
Name: Avi

Hey guys... I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem I do. I cant get a good nights sleep anymore :( I keep turning and tossing in bed tryin to sleep on my left but waking up once every hour to realize that I am on my back and so I move back to my side. When I am on my side,

I also have been waking up in the morning with a backache everyday for the past week.

Do you guys do anything to make yourself more comfortable in bed???

Any input would be great......

Happy Friday. Have a great weekend.

Hi Avi,

It's great to see some message or the other from you everyday.

I also have probelems sleeping..mainly when I get up at night to go to the loo and am not able to sleep for an hour or so. In terms of discomforts things have become much better for me ever since I have started keep pillows on both sides (or even one side is fine)...try sleeping on your side and put the pillow either under one leg or in between your legs..that's been quite relaxing for me...and hope it works for you too..do let me know how you go..

take care and don't worry about the abdominal pains..my doc also says it is because of stretching..infact he is so casual about it that he told me if it gets too much take a penadol or use some kind of balm..i guess it's all ok till there is no bleeding..

Take care,
Ritu

My sleep pattern has been very regular : I fall asleep once every two nights! So there I am tossing and turning every other night, and feeling miserable at work. Initially I thought it was becuase of the heartburn, but as of last week, my baby decided to change position, so I don't have heartbun anymore. So, now I'm not sure why I don't fall asleep every night.
The other interesting thing: dreams. I read somewhere a while ago that that pregnant women dream a lot about babies and animals. My dreams are following that rule to the T! Lions, blue bears (?), large frogs .....and babies ! Isn't that weird ?

Hey Priya and Rama, Thanks for letting me know that I am not the only one having trouble sleeping. Priya, you've been having some interesting dreams..
Large Frogs......I've never had dreams about them, atleast not as of last night.... :) Do Blue bears exist outside our dreams?????? :)

I did have a few baby dreams though.

Take Care

Hi Avi,

I have the similar problem. Except that I cannot sleep in one position for more than 45 mins to 1 hr max. I guess weight of my leg on the top will be pressing the bottom leg n' I get a hip joint pain which forces me to toss & turn. But luckily I never lost sleep on it. I do it very mechanically in the sleep

I like Khushi's idea of moving bed to the wall. I (My Hubby) will try to do that..

Regards,
Rama

Hi Avi,

U know it's a part of pregnancy & it will become harder & harder to get a good night's sleep. as i'm in my last month now so it's very hard for me too coz i've to get up from the bed after every 2-3 hours to go to washroom & ofcourse backache is a big problem too. I know we can't completely remove it but i can tell u what i do to make it less worse..

1. The first thing i did is change the postion of bed..i know it sounds funny to some people but when i change my bed to North-south position beleive me it helps. Someone told me that there is some theory of magnetic poles behind it. This sounds funny to me too but i was in so much pain that i thought i should give it a try. so u can try that too.

2. keep ur bed near to the wall & sleep on the corner side in this way in the night if u put two pillow with the wall it'll be a great support for ur back & body & u will feel more comfortable.

3. i hope u r using lots of pillows while sleeping. it also hepls.

4. Finally, a good massage from ur husband when u go to bed.

Hey Kushi, firstly you must be really excited about the big Day that is not very far away for you. Lucky you....

Secondly, thanks a lot for the info. I will follow you suggestion and see if it helps.

I cant believe that a not so big stomach can have such an effect on the rest of our body. I am sure it is much more difficult for you.

I will use more pillows too from today and also change the postion of the bed and see if it helps..

A massage will surely be good too..might try that too :)

Good luck with everything.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
