I was wondering what all of you are doing for maternity underwear? I see lots of nursing bras in places like Target. But no maternity panties. How're you managing?

is maternity lingerie necessary??

Hi,
Is there a necessity to buy maternity bras and panties? When my regular bra and panties didnt fit, I bought regular bra and panties but with a larger size and am using those right now. So is it okay to keep on using larger sizes regular bra and panties or do we necessarily need to use maternity bra and panties? What difference do the regular and maternity innerwear have?

Hi Susan

I think it's fine to use regular bigger size lingerie.The maternity panties have a bigger front to come up over your tummy.The maternity bras except nursing are same but costlier than regular bras.
Remember anything maternity is more costly than regular wear.

That's true, try maternity stores or even maternity section of regular stores.I have seen alot online incase u do not get the right size in the store.
Iam looking around for bras&finding it hard to get just bras without underwire.
I know i'll be shifting to nursing bras eventually but thot i'll buy a few bigger size regular bras until then.
But looks like there r no underwire good ones so will start wearing nursing bras.What r all of u doing?
Hope all of u know u need to avoid underwire bcos it hampers milk production.

Good Maternity Stuff

Hi
I bought the following from MotherHood Maternity and Mimi Maternity Stores.
Yes, they do have maternity panties.
They also have nursing bras as u said and also Bra Extenders, I can even wear my prepregnancy bras with these extenders. Another thing I bought which I like is the Maternity Belt. I use it when I go out for shopping or to others place, it gives support and relieves backpain.
I checked with the doctor its safe to use the maternity belts. Check it out.

Susan,
Maternity Belt I bought is for 13$ its a simple one. U get more comfortable ones too, since I dont work now, I dont need support all the time so jus bought this to use when I go out. Its worth buying if u have backpain or feel heavy in abdomen. Its in MotherHood Maternity Store. Visit motherhood(.)com and search for belt u can see it.
From the same store I bought 2 nursing/maternity bras for 16$ each.
Its nominal in Maternity Stores. Check out near ur area.

Hi Bargavi,
Can u pls explain to me in details what is maternity belt? What exactly does it do and from where to get it? What is its price range? Also how much do the nursing bras costs, cause I saw it in some store, Sears I think, it was almost around $30/- for one bra. Does the nursing bras costs so much? Thx.
