hi everybody,
can anybody give me receipes for tofu. Do we have to fry it in oil b4 making it. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi ,

How are you doing , hope you doing good , this is the resipe for Tofu , tofu taste better when u fry it first and the u cook it as per ur choice , thi is one of my tofu recipe :

Ingredients :
- 1 tofu (extra firm would be good )
- 1 green bell pepper
- brocolli / cabbage / cauliflower
- 3-4 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 table spoon chili sauce
- Ground pepper
- 1 table spoon lime or lemon juice
- 1 small onion
- 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste (optional)

Cooking Method ..

1) first fry the tofu and keep aside
2) now fry the onion , green bell pepper , brocolli , fry till it gives nice aroma ..
3)now add ginger garlic paste , lemon juice , soy sauce and chilli paste and to this add the fried tofu and and saute this for about 2 min and add pepper .... then cook about 5 min ...

Ur tofu dish is ready ...

i, too, like tofu fried, and i like the sauce you have for it. here is how i fry it, as i find it can make a difference:

i, too, prefer the extra firm. then i slice it in about 1/4 inch thick 'leaves'. i then put those on a paper towel and fold it over to cover all sides & absorb excess moisture. then i put flour, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper into a shallow pan and put each slice of tofu in, covering both sides. i set them aside for a few minutes. the flour mix will turn wet on the tofu. then i put them back in the mix and cover both sides again. next i put them in a frying pan with hot olive oil or any other kind of oil and brown on both sides.

i eat them w/ponzu sauce (a citrus soy sauce), but i like the thought of the addition of chili, ginger, garlic. i think green onion or chives would be good w/it, too.

i eat this as an appetizer before the meal. i guess i could eat it as a side dish with the vegetables served with it. i never did that. i just may try that. thanks.
