hello all,
I am pregnant. i am not sure how many weeks along. My LMP was june 7th and I ovulated on 23rd june. I guess I am 5 1/2 week or something. previously I thought I was 6 weeks pregnant. I had my cramping (but no bleeding)on sat when I called my doc and she asked me to come for an U/s which I went today. To my disappointment they told that they could see the sac but not foetus. All my happiness were shattered the moment I heard that and she told me that it maybe due to late ovulation and conception or there r chances of blited ovum/ miscariage. She asked to go for a blood HCG test on wed and fri and see if it doubles. Anyone of u been in this situation, shed some words of confidence please. Thanks

i went for an ultrasound also at 5 weeks and was told the same thing.that they could see the sac but not gestation. It worried me alot, and made me think i wasnt pregnant.but i went for another ultrasound at 7weeks and they picked the baby up that time.Dont panic yet because at 5 weeks it is too early for the baby to be picked up on a scan

There is nothing to be worry about because sometimes nothing can be established from the u/s in the 5/6th week of pregnancy due to irregular pattern of the periods. Same thing happened with my friend who had undergone for the U/S in the 6th wk since she observed some spotting but docs only found gestational sac. Her doctor advised her bed rest and next U/S was done after 10 days wherein they observed fetus and his heart beat. Now she is 18 wks pregnant. So you see everything was ok. You be happy and take care of yourself.
