Hi All,

All of u know that in abroad mostly there are no maids available as in india. so we have got to do all household work ourselves. its so tiring. what do u feel? any tips to improve or to make it fast so that we can enjoy shopping or chill out in libraries.
i wake up at 6am but work goes on and on.. like first cooking, washing vessels then clothes, then cleaning, then prepare for lunch and dinner, meanwhile go for shopping (only for veggies again for cooking) so we don shop our fav dress even... then clean and do puja in evening, then make coffee evening the dinner then wash vessels... ... ... what a life ya?

Chameli replied. Hey Shakthi,
May be household chores is not ur cup of tea.But still Indian wives have to do it.
In the first year of my marriage even i felt the same. But now i am ok.Try this.
First sit and think abt how to reduce ur work.Learn to do things side by side.
Plan ur next day dishes and buy the required veggies and store it.
AS a first thing before cooking plan it.
When u start preparing breakfast, in a parallel manner start preparing lunch too.
Whatever u have to grind in the mixie, do it one by one, wash the container and wipe it and place it clean.
Then boil cooking things.I guess u have an oven.U can put ' em one by one in the oven.Use a single oven vessel and clean it and wipe it dry.
Now remaining work will be simple. One or two woks will be used and wash it and clean the kitchen table.Thats it.
Even if u finish all this work by eleven u still will have good time till coffee for the evening.U can do shopping.go to the library or do anything as u wish.
When u prepare coffee, start preparing dinner.Once u r done with that,u can do lil bit of cleaning.
If u like this and have some specific trouble in doing this post a msg.
friendly replied. hi Shakti, Any work is easy when u plan for it and develop intrest in it. U can have quality time now. Just plan with intrest.
Though we dont have maids , we can do the things very fast thanks to machines like vaccume cleaner, washing machines, dryer...Etc..
I had dishwasher but never used it because I did like work of cleaning vessels.U mentioned...\" this is to women who think that these kind of work is hectic and not to them who love doing these work..\"
But I suggest u to develop love in this housekeeping work because u have to it for ever. Once kids r born u' ll be suffocated enough with workload unless u plan to do things in intresting way and simple. Dont do redundant /repetative work. Do 2 curries for lunch at a time so that it' ll be sufficient for dinner too. And ,the time u spend for one curry in kitchen is all sufficient for making another two curries too. So do curries at a time and chapatis/rice u can prepare in night fresh.
Its better if u do laundry only once/twice in week. U can save lot of time.
Also, buying veggies daily is not at all needed. Do it in the evenings ...not just before cooking. Buy weekly twice/thrice and keep them in fridge, Evenings decide what shd u do for next day, it will relieve lot of work.
Yes, I accept no woman like doing same work everyday. But when we have to do it, we have to atleast do it in different way and easy way.
Learn some tips without getting angry. U' ll surely love to do this routine work.
Ish replied. No kids, No job... still busy... can' t believe, I have 2 small kids and I am working full time, living in US without having servent maids. I never did household work or cooking before marriage. I think you need good planning....
B replied. One more thing..no one goes for veggi shopping everyday..that shows how much xtra time u have each day,do food shoping once a week.
B replied. Why would u clean the clothes everyday..also who makes lunch in the noon & dinner in the evening...you can make some xtra dinner & eat that as lunch, and i dont think cleaning clothes is time consuming as it' s once or twice a week & that is done by machines, coffee doesnt take much time either really dont understand that you staying home & crying abt you dont get time..imgine the ladies who works & manages the house at the same time.
KUNJU LAKSHMI replied. Hi Shakti,
First of all you keep all items in kitchen in a permanent place. So you will not be in a mess to find out things.
1. When you make curries make it for two days and keep it in Fridge. so thse curry preparation will be once in two days.
2. Do the floor cleaning once in two days.
3. When you make chapati, sametime let the curry on the stove and deal these two things at a time.
4. Ask your husband to take care of your child when he is free.
5. Avoid gossipping (if you have the habit) through telephone or any other way.
You know, these housemaids are human beings who are having the same feeling of us. Poor circumstances force them to work for others and for them it is useless to say that they are tired or weak, so they are working. If they say they are tired who will take care of them!!!
From my experience, a woman with normal health can easily manage 3 children and other house hold matters if she have a will to do.
Wish you all the best for an improvement in seeing houshold matters.
shakti replied. Hi neha,
plz don think iam telling anything against u or like that. what u will cook for dinner again?
or clean house and wash vessels again?
all this is work again na?
i said that it is a never ending job. from morning to night we have to make coffee, breakfast lunch dinner, coffee milk some thing occupies all our time, but i agree we cant live without this too, was just asking any quality ideas to refresh ourselves in between there hectic work. and this is to women who think that these kind of work is hectic and not to them who love doing these work..
ashu replied. Hi..I agree with you but may i asku in which country r u? u can do good job thru internet like e-learning or e-teaching. I know this work as i arranged for my wife when we were in UK. allthough as typical female she stopped and lost her interest in it and finally i land down in completing that work on her behalf :-))

Hi
Thanks for ur info. One more thing i have to say here. i have to prepare both BF and Lunch before 8AM since my husband goes to office by 8.05AM.
in this what i have to do? either i prepare BF fully or lunch fully or only half of them, and this leads to more fights betn us actually. if one day i get up by after 6AM gone ...
also i dont want to prepare lunch before a day itself, bcos it takes more time in my evenings with my husband, iam sick out of thinking a schedule, actually here ppl mostly go to office by 7.30 or 8 in the morning and i wonder how thier wives manage?
And we r veggies so my hubby cant eat non veg at office for lunch ...
thats my major problem, is there any solution for preparing lunch early itself. or any easy menu available?
pls share with me...

Name: friend Subject: thanks,shakti.
shakti, thanks for giving a thought. Now that I have a baby who goes playschool with a snackbox, I have more work than regular.
Before delivery, I used to have lots of time though I have habit of getting up at 7. thatis my weakness.
Its easy for u and u have time to exercise too.
So, after getting up, when u start brusshing, keep a vessel on stove and prepare tea while u r brushing. Its must for me because after brushing up, my hubby and me cant wait to have tea.
u can spend time with ur hubby till u start preparing breakfast at 7.30. Whatever breakfast u do, prepare simaltaneously the side dish like chutney ,etc/..It doesnt take more than half an hour though u do vwery slow. So, just by 8´ o clock u´ ll be havng ur breakfast.Let it be on dining table and when ever he want to have ,he can have it. Wash all the vessels. Over. It doesnt take morethan 15mins. Before startng cooking, u can refresh urself taking bath and doing pua for only ur mental peace.
So, time shd be 9.30 by now. Chalo, ur hubby also must have left to office. Remember u r not having any deadlines to complete ur work and doing with ur intrest just relaxing whenever u want.
So till, 11´ oclock, u relax and read a magazine ,or spend time in browsing.
then ,at 11 start cutting veggies for the curries. So while doing this boring job(cutting veggies is little boring and I feel cooking is intresting if anyone cut ad give veggies) so while cutting veggies, I used to pick phoe and talk to friend(local calls r free for me, then) .So I never know I finished cutting veggies. ,start curries at a time on 2 stoves. If u eat rice, use an electric cooker , and it gets finished on its own till the curries r done.
So within half an hour or 45mins... cooking is done. so simplae!!
Now u can wash vessels again and clean the platform . By 1´ oclock everything will be finished. So 1´ o clock to 5´ o lcock... U´ ll have no work. 5 to 6, u can do some cleanup work like vaccume cleaning, cleaning shelves or cupboards..Or preparing any simple snack or anything u want to do, u can do.U can even have a cup of coffee parallel.
Again 6 to 8 ,u can go for shopping, or friends home or chat with hubby...etc..Then again.. start doing some rice/ chapatis for noght. It shd not take more than half an hour. As u have done 2,3 curries during lunch time, u´ ll need not to have mre work for dinner.U r finished with dinner too! chalo have a nice dinner wiht hubby tll 9´ o clock.
If u want u can clean vessels. clean then within 15mins. so u´ ll be fresh next morning.
By 9.30 u can refresh urself and go to bed.
this was my routine when no other work is not includedd. but whne I had guests, I used to adjust time from my freetime. And ,Sometimes I used to feel bored when no friend is around, so usedto occupy myself with cupboard cleaning or kitchen rearrangement or soem other work.

Hi,
That was a nice response. Thank you!
Actually i plan things and want to do it with interest, but because of being alone all thro the day makes me fed up.
Will follow ur idea. Any time schedule you have for household works? can u share it with me. As i mentioned i get up by 6AM, but i feel very tired to start kitchen work, do u cook at night itself or start early at 6AM?

Hi
I live in UK and Iam very much interested to do job through internet. But i dont know much about that. Could you please tell me what kind of job your wife used to do and more information about the same. It would be great if you give some information.
I dont agree with shakti kumar because i dont think house works consume all your time. Eventhough i have 2-year-old kid i finish of morning work by 10am.(preparing breakfast..lunch box, cleaning, bath) and i get up at 7.30am. afternoon full i would be free..can spend time in library andd do shopping. you need to be quick i think.
