Hello: I am sure lot of you folks in US are trading this thin line about living in US versus returning to India.
I would like to know your opinons about returning back to India after say 10 yrs in US and then going back to stay with mil, sils etc..

Look forward to your response..

cheers,
Abhay

hi abhay,
we have been in us for 4 years . have got babies there . returned to india because of our own business but it was very very difficult for the kids to adjust here in india. they got sick cont. still we are facing much problem after even 1 year.
children don't have resistance to fight with the polluted environment like india

def. schooling is much better but even than family wise its much better in us . its very esy to enjoy ,rest is your choice . all the best

Abhay - I think \";visiting\"; for a couple of weeks / months is still different than actually mentally getting ready to make India your final destination. Yes, I love it too when i visit India for a few weeks. Infact, I miss India if i dont visit it every year or two. Education also no doubt is better. I believe we have more intelligence in India than in US, we just lack in the resources. In any case, i have to agree with vaishali, cleanliness and dollars are the ones that make you want to come back to US (not to forget the crowded trains, pollution, travelling time, sweat, humidity, dishonesty etc etc) Then again, its a matter of personal choices.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Neha: Thanks for your comments. I have decided to R2I 2006 as I think I can groom my kids better in India with the education system we have. Yes there are issues in India both infrastructure, dishonesty etc.. but I have lived that for 25 yrs before coming here and I think I can manage.. Time will tell the truth but with recent flow back to India I do see things have changed dramatically ( positively) in India..

cheers,
Abhay

I am with Neha and Vaishali,
Abhay seems to pretend something or believe in idealism. It won't work. Needless to say that he has to experience what he is saying.

Hi I would say it's very difficult to return back to india after living in the states for so long. You start looking at india in a differnt perceptive after living here. Things like healthcare, poverty, cleanliness, benefits, jobs, education.... Standard of living is totally different there and here. After ten years you'll want to go and visit family of course but not move back there.

Thanks for your comments. I dont necessarily disagree with you but I think it matter of mindset and expectations of materialistic comfort versus the close society. may be I missing something but last when I visited India my kids loved it inspite of the infrastructure issues.. schools are awesome in cities like pune, mumbai and blore...
how long have you been here in US?

Should a single man live with his mum in India?
I am a man in my late 40s and I have lived abroad in USA for the past two decades. I never had any interest in marrying or having kids so I never married. Recently my Dad passed away and my mother will be alone. I have made enough money to retire comfortably but because I am used to the American lifestyle I can't live in India.
