I am planning a baby. My periods were due on 2nd January. It has still not come. i.e. already delayed by 8 days. I used HPT but the result was negative. Is there any chance that the HPT might give wrong results. I had a pain like periods last week....but this week it is slight pain
in between in and around the stomach. I am really confused as why periods are delayed and the test is negative.
Shall I go and test with the gyanec? Do they use the same kit to test or use some different methods to test for pregnancy.

Thanks very much. Yes I have decided to wait for one more week, take HPT. and then if again it shows -ve go to another gyanec.

hey rains.. plz dnt be saddened dear. its still not over till u get ur periods. U should immediately get a blood test done. only blood test can tell u for sure if ur preggo or not. plz do not take any medicines to force
periods. I feel u should go to another gynac n take second opinion. No harm in waiting some more time.
Agin i shall repeat plz get a blood test done girl..
i will pray for you rains. i know what u are going thru. hang in there girl..

Normally highly sensitive HPT will give you an accurate result 5 days before your periods. But if your periods are irregular it will be difficult. Try to get the pregannct/nonpregnanct kind of kits(ept in USA), this helped me when i took it 5 days before my periods were due. its a greta feelin.

hi rains..
a lot of times if you have implanted late then the hpt will show negative as the hcg levels are low. but i suggest you take 1 more hpt in few days or go to your gynac n get a blood test done so you will know for sure whats happening.
i will pray that this is your month.!!

hi rains,

it is always mentioned on the kit that the result is valid for certain amount of time. so when you so negative result it ws right. All strips develop faint line when you leave them longer. so foloow your gynec´ s advice.
I know it is so hard to believe its not positive. i am going thru it for along time. but acccept it & move forward.

Hi Alolika,
I did an HPT yesterday (42nd day). It again came out -ve. Today morning I was examining that stick closely, i could see a paint pinkish area near the +ve side. Today I even went to the gyanec and he did the HPT only and it again came out -ve. He advised me to do the HPT again next week or else take a medicine which he prescribed to force periods. I am somehow not convinced. He din´ t check at all. I thought he will go for a blood test but he dint even ask me any of my symptoms. I am worried.
